Honda CB1300 Super Four photos - Beto Rocco_imp - 02-02-2022
Honda in Brazil imported the CB1300 Super Four for 3 years and I was lucky enough to buy and ride this wonderful machine. She's gone, but the memories remain.
In the Brazilian market it is becoming rare to find a good one and consequently prices are increasing.
I believe this is the way that the CB1100 in the American market.

I'm sure North America would have really liked this bike. It has a lot of torque in any gear, just turn the throttle and the smile appears.

that's basically exactly what Americans want most out of a motorcycle. Harley only makes torque-first bikes.

Beautiful looking bike...I like the gauges, very clean speedo with only kilometers. I wish U.S. bikes
would just show mph and forget cluttering the display with both mph and km--it seems obvious we're
never going to commit to a kilometers system for U.S. roadways. Personally, I wouldn't mind if we did,
but give me a clean speedo! I must have been in 6th grade, some 45 years ago, when we started
preparing for the great "metric switch" or whatever they called it. Wonder what happened to that? How
did the U.S. as a country begin all that, and then just say, "ehh, no thanks"?

RE metric in the U.S. - The U.S. is a non-trivial and complicated country. Other countries had an easier time making the transition, many doing it in the 1970s.

Haha...the U.S. is a non-trivial country? I don't know what that means, but is it
something we should be proud of? : )
We started in the '70s as well..if my memory serves me right, I would have been in 6th grade in 1975-76. I just think it's curious that in school we were presented with this grand idea that we were going to "catch up" or "align" with the rest of the world with a more effecient system, and then the movement lost momentum somehow and poof! Nada.

I believe it was started under Jimmy Carter in 1977 or so. It's really hard to change a system that had been in place for so many years that so many people knew. The rest of the world would have the same problem if they tried to suddenly switch to our system.
