I won't bore you all with the long story but the short story is that I had a complete tear of the rotator cuff a few weeks ago. The doctor scheduled me for surgery March 10 and says best case scenario is no bike for six months. I've heard nightmare stories about recovery time for this procedure and it's a depressing thought.
Anyway here's my question: being that my bike has been mostly in hibernation the last few months due to winter and now it's looking like another six months of not being ridden, should I do anything special to keep it up to snuff?
This time of year I've always kept it in a heated garage hooked to a battery tender and usually able to get it out once a month so I never felt the need to 'winterize' it.
Thanks in advance for suggestions....

Don't know if anyone else is using these protection parts, but I just installed them and am very satisfied with look and ease of install. These are from T-REX Racing.

Howdy--new member here. Love the CB1100 and currently own a 1989 Shadow 1100. The Shadow does not have a center stand, but I see in the photos of the CB1100 that both center and side stand are present--great!
Is the CB center stand suitable for most basic maintenance activities or does the bike need to be raised on a jack--to remove the rear wheel for example? My Shadow has lots of low hanging pipes, tubes, etc. that prevent the jack from centering and lifting without a confusing array of blocks and shims.
I do not anticipate any mods other than adding some kind of wind screen and a way to hold stuff. I have saddle bags on the Shadow and like them. I peaked at the photo page in this forum and saw a few screens/fairings but not much in the way of saddle bags. Is this eschewed by my new family of CB riders?
Looking forward to spending time on this forum while I rationalize the purchase of a new/used CB1100.

Now, I havent seen this before and Im wondering if its feasible. Can you, without issue, install air filter pods on each of the throttle bodies and get rid of the entire airbox setup?
