  This bike (I think it's this bike) is for sale.
Posted by: emptysea - 12-05-2015, 01:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

I was at Des Plaines Honda (just outside Chicago) last night and they told me they just got a used CB1100 in. Their description has me convinced that it is this exact bike...

If you're interested, you should contact Des Plaines Honda.

  new 2014 standard price?
Posted by: pdedse - 12-04-2015, 05:06 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (35)

I'm in the market for a new bike: considering...

2014 CB1100 standard $8000 + 500 for "freight/setup"
2014 MGuzzi V7 Stone (employee said $6400, but I think he goofed, will check tomorrow)
2016 Triumph Street Twin (not available till spring, prolly $8900)

What do you think of the CB1100 price for the Standard?

Thanks.

Howdy,

When 15000 bikers protest against a stupid low, that is the result:

(Law is to ban driving in French cities)

Some fantastic bikes and a great time Clap Even though our beloved CB doesn't like so much going at 10 km/h for too long Undecided

  Chicdesign Hand Guards and Stuff
Posted by: 4myredhonda_imp - 12-03-2015, 01:41 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (14)

This forum has been a wealth of information and inspiration. Thumbs Up

Still waiting on the Chicdesign seat and fairing....But the Chicdesign hand guards, R&G frame sliders and Staintune exhaust arrived this week.The weather here in Northeast Kansas has been pretty cold, like mid 30's for highs during the daytime. When it warmed up into the 40's on Wednesday and stayed that way this week, I braved the cold and got all of the parts installed.

The ChicDesign hand guards were pretty easy to install with the OEM mirrors. I used blue Loctite on the screws holding the guards to the brackets.

The Staintue muffler was fairly straight forward. Per the instructions, I used a high temp silicone sealer on the joint between the header pipe and the muffler. No real hassles, except for having to get up and down and crawling around on the cold concrete. Confused

The K&G frame sliders were a little bit of a pain in backside because the instructions are confusing and pictures are on different pages than the text. They are quite sturdy and have an additional 1/4" steel plate on each side to help prevent frame or engine damage in the event of a fall.

The ChicDesign seat and fairing are not schedule to arrive until late January/early February. I may have to wait on the weather to get them installed. They should really add to Café theme.

Cheers to all.

  2015”Upgrades”
Posted by: CB4ME_imp - 12-03-2015, 10:47 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

I added about 40 farkles to my CB1100 in 2013 and 2014, so I started off 2015 by buying an NC700X in search of new farkling opportunities. Thirty farkles and a half a year later I was pretty much done with that bike.

So in mid-2015 I turned my attention back to the CB1100. I hesitatingly swapped out my excellent Staintune exhaust for a smaller SP Tadao exhaust and added a touring windscreen to my Chic Design RC II. The rest was mainly painting parts black for a more toned down look…. and adding lots of red parts for more sparkle, thus continuing my bipolar approach to customizing. Big Grin

The list for this past year includes:

Babyface front axle sliders – for show only
Blacked out disk brake mounting bolt washers
Black front and rear turn signals
Chic Design touring screen with black trim on screen and chrome trim around the headlight opening
Fairing interior was painted silver
Red brake reservoir covers, red brake reservoir mounting brackets and red bar ends
Oil cooler cover – sides painted black
Black tank trim
Blacked out “Honda” logo on engine cases
Red engine bolts and oil filler cap
Homemade side stand foot pad
Blacked out “carb” round, black top of shocks, black grab bars and license plate holder
Power box short exhaust – power box removed, stopper installed

Going forward, I may try lower handlebars. And if I inherit some money, maybe an aluminum swing arm, dyno tune and ECU reflash. But if Honda sells the CB1100 in 2016, this bike and the NC700 may end up on Craigslist so I can afford to start over.

I made a YouTube video of my 2014 CB1100 with my cell phone. Not the best video and I sound half retarded but it does show some light mods I did. Check it out if you want. I hate talking into a mic and hearing myself, LOL.

  2014 Stock

Stopped by the dealer for oil and filter, black 2014 looking at me as I come in the door. Talked the salesman, said it had been there a week. He'll keep ordering them from Honda as long as Honda has the rebate. Says Honda seems to have plenty in stock.

So if YOUR dealer does not have one and you want it, I suspect he can order one for you. As supplies last.

  Scorpio Alarm installation
Posted by: Volchkoff_imp - 12-02-2015, 06:15 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

Dear friends,

I decided to install Scorpio SR-i900 system on my CB1100. But I have a problem. There are many connector kits in producer stock (they lets to install without cutting of wires). But our bike is not listed. I discussed with their specialist and they advised to come in to their office and show a bike. And they will say which one of kits will fits to our bike.

It is good idea, but they locates in US and I am in Russia....

I would like to ask someone of our forum member, if you will pass not far from their location, could you visit them and show a bike to their specialist. This is their address:
16055 N Dial Blvd.
Suite #B-10
Scottsdale, Arizona 85260
From my side I can promise to make an installation guide and review.

  "Perma-Gray" for Cormanus
Posted by: the Ferret - 12-02-2015, 05:39 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (16)

The other day in a thread I mentioned Perma-Gray. It's a condition us Midwestern folks go thru from November to March when the skies are almost always overcast and the sun rarely peaks through. Bright sunny blue bird skies with white puffy clouds are rare days. Usually it's more like the following pics which I took on today's ride.

typical midwestern sky in November..December..January..February lol

[url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/ST%20ride%20Dec%202%202015%20004_zps77oq9z7f.jpg.html][Image: 850aecfe9269327621612a968d9d6fa3.jpg]

Skies like this can be dry..OR rain or snow depending on the temp. It was dry from sun up until 2. Is supposed to start raining about 3PM and turning to snow flurries about 5 pm when the temp drops. Today we get it all.

Notice there are no shadows. This is middle of the day 1:45 ish

[url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/ST%20ride%20Dec%202%202015%20018_zpsctms7p4h.jpg.html][Image: b350dae3d4d9d74516a5eae0730f404e.jpg]

I think the gauges say 1:48 PM 46 degrees and I had gone 89 miles at this point and am about 5 miles from home. Also noticed I turned over 64,000 miles on the ST on yesterdays ride. Still can't find that 6th gear lol

[url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/ST%20ride%20Dec%202%202015%20019_zpsak5ce4ws.jpg.html][Image: affd2c5f49e22f5898c6a6ad3d5c00a4.jpg]

also notice the cars coming toward me have their headlights on in the middle of the afternoon

[url=http://smg.photobucket.com/user/theferret111/media/ST%20ride%20Dec%202%202015%20021_zpszcecvlh9.jpg.html][Image: 142ce8a9ce1ef9e50a2c8f5da43cb2d9.jpg]
