  Rear Turn Signals
Posted by: Outtabout_imp - 11-20-2015, 09:44 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Anyone else notice that the front turn signals also work as running lights but the rear signals don't? I usually ride in the daytime, so it really wasn't obvious to me until I was riding it this evening. Just seems kind of odd. Any opinions on this?

  Black Deluxe in the US?
Posted by: Liable_imp - 11-20-2015, 06:32 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (24)

Hello there all!

This is actually my first ever forum post here. See I'm currently looking for a cb1100, well a new motorcycle in general, was holding out for the 2016 triumphs, but so far I'm leaning toward finding a cheap CB1100 here in Houston.

Anyway, my question is. Did they ever make a black deluxe? How could I tell if it's a deluxe, is there an identifier on the VIN? I feel like all the deluxes were red. See the problem is, there are two dealers here listing CB1100s as deluxes and they are clearly black. One wants a way too much if it's a std, so I guess I just wanted to check here before I low ball them or look elsewhere.

Thanks in advance guys.

P.s. I've been riding for 5 year about and own a 79 cx500 (which might get sold this weekend Sad ) and a 78 GL1000

  Montesa 4Ride

Montesa/Honda is coming out with a new Crossover bike that is based on their trials bikes. It looks like a winner! A "street-legal" trials bike.

  Trip down the Natchez Trace.
Posted by: 1ate7records_imp - 11-20-2015, 04:10 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (12)

In early October I took a 4 day trip most of the way down the Natchez Trace Parkway. These are some of the Photos. I didn't quite make it all the way down Because i ended up hitting some pretty gnarly rain storms. Overall though it was a good first long Trip for me to try.

  Average yearly miles for motorcyclists
Posted by: the Ferret - 11-20-2015, 02:05 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (42)

according to Kelly Blue Book

What is the average yearly mileage for a motorcycle?

Obviously mileage will vary from year to year and model to model. A simple guide could be to consider the type of bike you are looking at: If the bike is a sportbike 600 c.c. to 999 c.c., and since these bikes are traditionally weekend only bikes, you can expect to see lower miles, about 3,000 miles per year. Tourers or Sport Tourers usually see a lot of miles, but these are generally freeway miles, between 5,000 to 6,000 miles per year.

this site claims just over 1900 miles on average

  If the CB1100 didn't exist
Posted by: the Ferret - 11-20-2015, 01:56 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (136)

some others brought it up in another thread about the new bikes being released, but I thought this would make in interesting topic on it's own merit

IF.. the Honda CB1100 didn't exist

what other bike or bikes would be on your radar for buying?

  First Oil Change
Posted by: Bokobob_imp - 11-19-2015, 10:15 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

Next week I'll do my first oil change on my 14 CB1100. Should I use synthetic oil yet, or wait until second oil change??? (it will have just over 600 miles on it,)

Thank you,

  "Getting to know you."
Posted by: Bokobob_imp - 11-19-2015, 09:56 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (7)

I do not yet have 500 miles on my new CB1100 standard. Yet, each ride reveals to me additional bonding with this remarkable bike...I did some slab riding on the interstate yesterday and by sitting on a sheepskin and sitting quite forward on the seat, I did not experience any discomfort with my legs due to positioning on the pegs. (Every five miles or so I'd straighten my legs and move my feet well forward for a few seconds. Also, I did not have any irritation on my behind due to cushioning of the sheepskin. I have even gotten increasingly able to cope with riding without a windshield. (FYI I am 5'9" tall, have 29 inch inseam and weight 175).

(Nothing new here, I realize. I am just an old coot (1936 model) reliving my youth to the extent I can.)

Best to all.
