After a hundred year history - Au Revoir. - Pterodactyl_imp - 03-25-2016 I found this delightful lightweight in, of all places, my local bookstore. It led me to have a look at the history of this company. Born in Italy in 1903, Follis finally expired in France in 2006. Many were founded after the conflict to provide cheap transportation. Good find Ptero. Before WWII there were dozens and dozens of motorcycle companies throughout England, Europe and the US. Most were low production companies lasting only a short time and most failed before the war anyway. I think it must be because of all the space allowing each component part to be individually fully appreciated. There have been a lot of old French bikes appearing in the UK recently and not much money will buy a very attractive single seat bike with hand gear change.
