I bought a oil filter at John burr Honda the other day $12.50 there must be a better alternative out there just because it says Honda its made of gold and cost twice the price.. Any other filters and a part # please.

Following our fearless moderator "75 miles for a cheeseburger" lead. Today I rode 70 (each way) to have a burger with Redbirds and Sparky at the House of Bread in Folkston, GA.

In case you've never sat on a late model Honda Goldwing it may surprise you that they come with wider rider pegs and not floorboards like you might expect.

As I mentioned in another topic thread I had read about using the Goldwing pegs on the current CB300's and CB500's and knew the Honda foot peg mounting system is the same across the model line up so I went ahead and ordered a set of replacement pegs on eBay to give it a shot.

Camera angle is misleading, they're not that huge:



The installation is simple enough, remove the cotter pin, pull up the pivot pin, watch out for the washer and spring, then do the reverse to install the new peg. Don't be like me and forget to replace the washer and you have to take it all apart again. Or, you spend more time fiddling with the peg return spring getting it all lined up just right so the pivot pin slips back into place.

Right side, no problems, no issues:





Left side? Discovered I needed to loosen the bolt holding the shift lever to give me enough room to remove the pivot pin, then I discovered there isn't enough clearance between the shift lever and the Goldwing peg! Not a big problem, just need to bust out the Dremel and grind the peg a bit tonight.

Looks worse in these photos than in real life ..... I hope.

This mid-sized (darn I say "small") adventure bike has been getting great reviews (e.g. Giant Loop the luggage people, really like it, reviewers seem to love it). With a bit of farkeling it can do 90% of what an Africa Twin can do, at roughly half the cost.

My main concern, draping my long frame over it.

Anyone here have one? Comments?

So if that aint enough,; here comes big issue #2
Now I cannot see what my remaining range and remaining fuel....also when riding,
It does automatically show the 2 meters when you are almost out of fuel, but I dont get any figures...whats the cause of that?




The bike is becoming a real dissapointment to me.

Sorry to ask, but my bike is just about a mile down the road but I got some sort of peripheral vertigo and had to go to the ER. I can't drive or ride my bike until at least Saturday. If anyone is in the area I would obviously trust another CB rider to get my bike home without damage. If anyone is in the area today I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise I'm hoping to find out how much it will cost to get it towed

Oh what a beautiful day to ride. Nicest day this year, so far. I headed north this morning up to my favorite back roads in my old stomping ground, doing my best to stay away from the mainstream traffic. I was slowing down for a stop sign in the middle of nowhere when a golf ball when sailing by between my face shield and the windshield. Looked to my left, in the direction it came from and yup, there was a golf course. I think maybe the golfer may have been aiming for the stop sign because it landed right at the base. I bent down, picked it up, put it in my pocket and motored on. The road turned out to be a dead end, so I swung around and headed back past the golf course. As I was passing the course I looked for a possible tee that it may have come from and sure enough there were a group and one was waving at me. Did he expect me to stop and return his ball ? Not ! I did wave back though. A couple hours later I was headed down a divided highway on my way home, it was rush hour and the traffic was pretty dense. I was in the left lane doing maybe 55 when a round shiny chrome object came sailing over the guard rail on the left. Holy bovine excrement (thanks Pterodactyl) it was a trailer ball ! Needless to say, I didn't stop to pick it up. It's one thing to be on the lookout for crazy cagers on their cell phone, but now I have to look out for balls ?
