The Triumph manual has some b.s. about HD4X Hybrid Organix Acid Technology coolant. My question: Is motorcycle coolant any different than automotive? Can he use good ole Prestone 50/50 ot need to go find something bike-specific?

I believe this might be a first here on the forum: an audio/video collaboration by husky385 and me, lol. His camera didn't capture any audio, so I stuck some of my music on this clip (hey, you can always mute the sound if you want to). He shot this video last weekend on our group ride as we were heading south on Highway 35 out east of Mt.Hood here in Oregon.

Are there any hard bags that fit the DLX that don't require moving the rear turn signals? I have soft bags now which are fine, but I need something more secure. I like the turn signals where they are, and don't really want to change them.

This past week I used again the For Sale/WTB/For Trade section of the Forum. It was not my first time, since April when I got my CB1100, I have been buying most of the accessories pre-owned from other members of the Forum. And every single time the contact was fast and courteous, the transaction was easy and the item arrived in perfect condition, pretty much like brand new. I don't know how it worked for other members but in my case it's always been an A+ experience. Maybe I was just lucky, but even if is a very repeated mantra on this site, I guess it's worth saying once again what a great group of individuals signed for this CB community.

So, kDiqq (Service Manual), SUPERCRUZ (Comet Fairing), Nemo (Tail Bag), modmaster (Side Covers) and ss2wheels (Custom Seat), thank you all for taking great care of your equipment , and also helping me saving some $$.

Finally, a picture of the bike with the latest additions, especially for Popgun, who wanted to see that custom seat.

2014 Honda CB1100 DLX #0221

Made the trip east-to-west and 'All is Good!' Did the initial inspection - so far so good (will do more tomorrow), had to take it out (once I verified all fluids, tire pressure, etc.).
Initial impressions:
- She's a tad smaller than my 2002 CB750 Nighthawk
- She's a tad heavier than my 2002 CB750 Nighthawk
- She's a lot prettier than my 2002 CB750 Nighthawk (sparkles everywhere)
- Yeah! No more CV-Carbs and petcocks to deal with
- Dang, the brakes are more than twice as effective
- Very tractable power curve
- I can't stop looking at her

BUT -- PM me if anyone has and wants to sell a 'spare' METALMAVEN License Plate Mount (with screws/fittings), soon - please.

As stated in my new member post, the CB11 is my first bike. As in, first ever. Naturally, there is a learning curve to climb and here is one early lesson among many that have come my way: I was commuting to work and riding just a bit cocky this morning for no earned reason and I came around a corner to a yellow light. I didn't realize how fast I was traveling until I hit the brakes, and my front brake a little too hard at that. My bike slipped on the plastic white arrow in the road and I watched over my right shoulder as my rear wheel began to catch up with the front. I noticed that the driver in the intersection waiting to make the left had noticed the trouble I was in and, thankfully, was no longer interested in beating me through the light. I released the brakes and hit the throttle and my bike straitened up and glided through the intersection. This was my first real close call and I was shaken, but made it to work unscathed. In the parking lot of the office I grabbed for the brake instead of the clutch while parking and ran away from danger as my bike slammed to the ground. I rode home cautiously with a bent brake lever, and that weekend went to work because as they say on tv, a man never lets another work on his motorcycle. I'm no mechanic, but I think I learned to love working on my motorcycle through this simple task. I know I learned to pull over after a close call.

One of my favorite areas to ride these days is in the area north of Wilton, NH and east of Hillsboro, NH.

Route 136 from Greenfield to New Boston is a great road and route 149 from Weare to Hillsboro is good too.

It's sad to see this old fire engine in a shed that is literally collapsing. Hopefully somone will rescue it and restore it some day.

My confession:
It's been almost two month since I last rode my beloved CB1100. The spiders have moved in, and are knitting a web around her.

I've taken on a "PART TIME" job at Triumph Classic Motorcycles in Costa Mesa, CA.
I'm working 40 hours a week (part time!?) at the shop wrenching on old Triumph's, BSA's, Norton's, and even a Matchless. [url=http://photosbytink.com/tcm_test/]http://photosbytink.com/tcm_test/

Wrenching on motorcycles has always been my first love.
Once upon a time, (a loooong time ago) in my youth, I tried to make a living as a motorcycle mechanic... I almost starved.
But now that I'm retired from corporate life, and receiving a monthly pension check , I can afford to follow my passion to repair and restore old motorcycles.

So for now my beloved CB1100 sleeps in the back of the garage awaiting the day when I have time to ride her.

Sorry I have not replied to the private messages in regards to the exhaust...
So I decided to do a quick video today, Shows a bit of everything.

Quality of the Video isn't the greatest, Sound of the exhaust isn't that loud because of where the gopro is mounted though it is pretty loud when you are behind me .... first Gen Gopro with no case velcro on top of the front brake reservoir.

This is a Ride to work on a daily at 30 miles one way....
