   Riko's videos

Gonna try out my vids here and hear what you guys think of em Smile

First one up was one I wanted to try for some time, positioned rearwards with a view of the exhaust and hopefully some exhaust notes.

Gonna try later on with a microphone....maybe that could improve the sound because now there is some windnoise.

And here a vid with a view on the front wheel taken with my Polaroid Cube Pluse:

I'll make sure to update this thread frequently and I'll try to make a nice looking intro/credit with my limited skills. Undecided

Next up, a video from my chestmount!
I'll see if I can upload it by tomorrow.

  Sound Library for the CB1100?
Posted by: coliban_imp - 08-04-2016, 03:46 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

Hello,

i still haven´t got a CB1100 ( hope, i can purchase one this autumn, so excuse me for making proposals), but i´ve read a lot about it. When i found the problem-theads people had about strange sounds and the solutions they discovered, many times the brotherhood of CB1100 riders asked them for sound files or pointed them to threads where sound files were provided. Sometimes the problem was the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV), maybe the wrong oil, the crank, valves, whatever. Others ride their bike and don't know, if there are some strange things happening in the engine because they have no comparison. Me, for my part, if i (hopefully) purchase the CB1100EX (it´s already getting colder), would like to know, how a healthy motor sounds, but i will not know because i have no comparison.
On the other side, there are numerous threads about noises from the CB1100 and often, there are also solutions, but they are spreaded all over the forum and are hard to find, so maybe it would be helpful to provide a sound library for the CB1100 with "strange" (or normal) sounds and their presumably solutions? (It would be not a big deal, just a new thread with the gathered sounds and the solutions the owners discovered)

The sound files should be recorded in a roughly standardized manner, and the supposed solution (or the possible solution, nothing more) so if someone would have a problem, he could search the sound library for a similar sound to have a first guess what could be wrong. Maybe this would be a help in recognizing and finding problems.

regards

  Want a new CB?

I just ran across a heck of a deal if you know of anyone looking. There's a brand new 2014 black CB1100 at Shawnee Honda in OK for $6999.

  CB1100 Spotting in Bellevue, WA
Posted by: olekzap_imp - 08-04-2016, 09:35 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (18)

I'm fairly certain I spotted a black CB1100 on Kamber road westbound today around 11 AM in Bellevue. I was in my Pilot so I didn't wave but it definitely looked like one. If it was any of you let me know. I don't see many of the black 2014s on the road.

why do the engine cases differ from ours
Posted by: ss2wheels_imp - 08-04-2016, 09:17 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

why do you think Honda paints the engine covers on CBs in other countries and we get the polished and clear coated ones?

  Roland Sands Barfly Jacket
Posted by: metallyguitarded_imp - 08-04-2016, 01:26 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (13)

I got an email from Revzilla this morning advertising the Roland Sands Barfly jacket at half off ($260)! I couldn't resist at that price. I own the Roland Sands Ronin jacket in the tobacco brown color and it's a great jacket. I ordered the Barfly in black. I hope I like it just as much as the Ronin.

  I've been shot! (updated pic)

Yup, after so many trips up to the Malibu Canyons, the pro photographer that hangs out up there and takes photos of the riders finally took this shot of me on a section known as "The Snake".

Here's the non-watermarked version.

  Front Brakes Touchy?
Posted by: Rhinosaurus_imp - 08-04-2016, 01:19 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I'm looking for some feedback... I bought a used '14 ST (without ABS) back in May and have noticed the front brakes are very touchy, especially at low speeds. Now I don't have much to compare to. I went from a '81 CB750C to the CB1100 and have only been riding for a few years, but it seems a little excessive. I really had to get on my 750 to stop quickly, which is my only real comparison. Is this normal for this bike? Is there a way to adjust this? I just gave my brother my '81 (hoping to hook him on riding too), so not going back and forth will help me get used to it as well. I'm more curious than anything. - Thanks
