Sung to the tune of the threads name,gimme a pair of them cheap foot pegs,bought a pair of ugly cheapo $29 honda foot pegs,attached them to the honda chrome engine guards just below the bend,works great for shifting your weight and alleviating pressure point discomfort on your bottom end>Ugly as heck,but I ain't gonna win a beauty contest anyway,and it makes living with the factory seat much more bearable on a longer ride where you're just cruising and don't need instant use of shifter and rear brake.Also found a $1.99 pair of light yellow shooters range sun glasses that are close fitting and don't restrict peripheral vision.Says UV resistant on the packaging,don't know if i believe it at that price point,but they're great for riding.My low cost (113.95) street shield u-clamp mount windscreen is on and is adequate for keeping bugs from slamming into the face,price included shipping.Working on getting my old Kawa cruiser bags modified to use as throw-overs,the brackets(that keep bags from rubbing tires) are at a friends shop to be trimmed and heat bent so the bolt holes line up with the CB mount points.

I mean when they leave the factory?

I was reading a post on another forum by a guy who had had the rusty inside of his tank lined, and then down the road he had trouble with the lining peeling and it occurred to me that if factory tanks are not coated then why not just come up with a way to sand blast the inside of old tanks?

On 2014 DLX's is there meant to be a documents compartment (with a door that closes) built into the bottom of the seat? Looks like there is a cut out area on my seat, but the "door" is missing. If it is supposed to be there, any suggestions on where to get a replacement?

To be clear, I'm not talking about the nice larger storage area underneath the seat that is between the side panels that fits the toolkit, manual, and perhaps a pair of gloves. What I'm talking about is much smaller, and perfect for registration, insurance card, and some emergency cash.

My Corbin saddle has been leaving me looking for additional comfort so I ran up to the Sturgis rally on Monday and stopped by the Air Hawk booth. While there, the CB received several double takes and questions from passersby about how old, etc., we all know the drill. Kind comments from all.

Now, on the ride back to Nebr. on Hwy 79 I see two Harleys in my mirrors in the passing lane approaching rapidly. They disappear into my blind spot but they DON'T pass. After several moments they pull up alongside and give me the "thumbs up" and "OK" signs, obviously appreciating the CB! (It certainly wasn't me, HAD to be the bike)

BTW: The Air Hawk is a BIG improvement. I shoulda tried Air Hawk first before going with Corbin. $116.50 well spent!

As mentioned elsewhere, I have a new to me 2014 DLX with just 1,100 miles on it that is in like-new condition. Pretty sure it was bought in 2014.

Owners manual says to change the brake fluid and clutch fluid at the 2 yr mark, so I should do that this summer, right? I want to pamper the bike and take excellent care of it, but the same time I don't want to throw money away if something is not needed. Sounds like changing out those 2 fluids every 2 years is a standard practice for nearly all motorcycles?

Other than oil and oil filter, any other maintenance items I am missing?

I am sure someone is using the Ventura rack system, am I correct in assuming that the sport rack configuration in the same base that is used for the larger bag system? It appears as though the sport rack can be pulled and replaced by the higher luggage rack.
Am I getting this concept correctly, in that one rack system can have multiple applications?
Well built I assume? What, other than price, is not to like?

I just got my brand new to me DLX with 1,100 miles and want to hook it up to my 3 year old Optimate 3 battery charger. Looks like Honda even puts their name on one of these as part of the marketing. Also looks like the attachment to the battery is already in place on my bike.

What kind of battery charger do you guys use? Any concern with, or good experiences with the Optimate 3? Other recommendations?

Also, looks like what is presently attached to my battery is not as heavy duty or weather proof as what was attached to my prior bike, but I can swap that out if desired.

What seems to be the consensus on using these on the CB?
In the past, with sportbikes, I've always believed in their vibration-reducing quality, but I've read several people have removed theirs here, with no noticeable difference. Is this really the case after using them for some time, or did you go back to using them because a bad case of "tingle-hand" set in?
I've got some grips that I loved on my Triumph that I'd really like to use on the CB, but they'd work (and look) a lot better without the weights in place.

So -what say ye, good people?!

one thing i noticed while riding is that the instantaneous MPG while riding seems to have an issue when it is really high. on a few down hills where i was mostly coasting it would display in the 90's and would then give dashes (as when not moving). my guess is it can't display over 100mpg.

on the ride last year i got grip wraps to make the grips wider and more comfortable. this year i had to get a oxford cruise throttle assist to swap out for my crampbuster. it is definitely better but i will be borrowing a kuryakn throttle boss to compare to as well.
while shopping at the iron pony i also got a little useful bling for the cycle.
