I installed a Galfer 3-line kit on my '13 Standard and gave it a good hard test ride today. Had to clean the pads with good, acetone-base brake cleaner but once everything settled down, braking was improved immensely, so much so that I would put these binders on a par with my '15 ZX-10R or '12 GSX-R 750. So much better, the control is greatly improved and much easier to modulate to get the precise amount of braking into bends.

I've got the double-line setup on a couple of bikes and that's not bad either; I understand the triple-line is best, having the least amount of brake line and being very easy to bleed. I also have a 3-line "GP" brake line setup on my Ninja, but the master cylinder is just a touch mushier than the CB1100.

They made it 3" shorter to fit the CB500 bar setup, worked out very well.

Also did the clutch line and it feels much better, but have not actually ridden the bike with the clutch line replaced yet.

You gotta remove and replace the tank for that little operation so it's a couple of hours at least.

Sincerely, I would NOT recommend these lines for most riders because the braking action is unexpectedly powerful and I have read more than one thread about riders locking the front wheel, etcetera.

Obviously if you have ABS...well, I'd probably just leave it alone in that case, too much plumbing!

But for the sportier style riders, these brakes are fantastic. And I still have the stock OEM pads, with over 10K miles on them. I like the EBC HH Sintered, but won't be installing them as the brakes are terrific now.

I have a Yosh slip-on which is louder than stock but still quiet compared to other bikes. It actually is lower than a stock Yamaha bolt exhaust.

Do the full system exhausts (header plus slip-on) get much louder? Anyone have insight? I am not looking to annoy people more to be heard a little more lane splitting.

I've been speaking to my Honda dealer and it seems there is newly released ECU Software from Honda, to fix the unstable Idle Problem.

I've had the idle problem and I'm quite keen to get it fixed but I've had the ECU re-flashed by Guhl Motors and I'm wondering what effect the new Honda Software will have.

I've sent Guhl Motors an email and maybe they will be aware of the new Honda Software and what it does.

Anyone here have any experience of this?

There is the possibility that the new Honda Software will wipe the Guhl settings, which I really don't want.

It may also be possible to then have the Honda re-written ECU re-flashed by Guhl. Hopefully possible but potentially costly.

Best outcome would be if the new Honda Software only changes the parameters that need tweeking on the ECU and leaves all the Gulh tweeked stuff well alone... Wishful thinking possibly and I'm not sure I want to find out by having it done.

I'll let you know what Guhl Motors comes back with as I guess there must be a few people on here with the same problem...

I searched and couldn't find too much posted about the Moriwaki one piece Exhaust, so I thought I would mention a couple things about it in case anyone is curious like I was.

I really like the look of the Yoshimura exhaust but I read that the center stand can't be used on 2014 bikes. It was important to me to retain use of the center stand so that made the Moriwaki pretty appealing. Plus I really like using Japanese market parts on my bike as much as possible. So when the Moriwaki was on sale for $900 on japan.webike I went for it.

This exhaust is designed to comply with Japanese db laws so I have to say it only seems a little bit louder than stock, but with a sportier tone. Actually I wouldn't mind if it was a little bit louder. By the time I'm about half way up the tach in second gear I can't hear it anymore. No decel popping, not sure if my PC5 has anything to do with that. It does emit a sporty sounding "burble" when the revs fall below 3k.

After three years and 10,000 miles I'm ready to do something more than just the Ikon shocks. I need the precision of the Ohlins; if anyone's used these (the twin shocks with full adjustability and piggyback reservoir) I'd like to hear some comments. They aren't cheap but are probably worth the investment.

Problems with the Ikons are ride height cannot be precisely adjusted, and the damping adjuster only provides four widely-spaced adjustments, and both compression/rebound are increased/decreased simultaneously.

The Ikons are huge improvement over the stock shocks for any riding style, though.

A good reminder is Kenny Roberts Sr. discussing certain corners where he never pushed to the limits because of the consequences of a mistake."

The winglets were absent from Rossi's bike during the race this weekend.

He started 15th on the grid and finished on the podium, passing over a dozen other riders.

He reportedly never liked the wings; Marquez' bike also had only vestigial version.

Dovizioso's bike had a full array of aero devices, looking like a biplane from the front. The two Suzukis were not able to outrun him in the straights, but nonetheless swarmed the Ducati and because of better agility and cornering speed were able to get by him. They also ran the very small winglets.

Crutchlow had the same nearly non-winglets as Marquez.
