That is great. I am very very interested in this. Please update about the handling, suspension, anything related. I am headed in this direction. What wheels did you use and what fit issues did you have if any?
Thumbs UpThumbs UpBig Grin

Also interested in any and all other mods, what bars, what fork springs, ECU, anything you can think of.Clap
Ever take it on track days? Got any images? Looks like rear end is quite a bit higher for clearance. Stock peg feelers I see but no centerstand. More please.

Ace! That's a bit tasty!! I'm al dente... Come on, full details... Or have you posted it before? Dead clever.
I've been toying with the idea of a sports version of the CB for a while. Weight saving I've found to be the best thing for the bike.

very cool rmack, love what you're doing and keen to understand more

BTW thanks for the offer to join you guys on a Snowy Mountains trip. Done it once and loved it but won't be able to do it again for a little while. On the other hand if you're happy to do a day trip around the ranges (Kinglake, Upper Yarra etc...) would be great to meet up in 3D for a ride and lunch.

Cheers
A.

Spot on beardy, weight is this bikes enemy when it comes to performance that and its ability to turn in and change direction mid corner both i have addressed to my satisfaction
Some would say that this is not what the bike was designed for but i bought it to build the best twin shock 80s race bike look that i could do
Mods include the
17 inch wheel conversion large weight saving
yamaha yzf750r twin piston underslung rear caliper
triumph 250 mill rear disc
525 chain conversion more weight off
19 tooth front sprocket
41 tooth rear
320 mil NG discs 1 kilo less then original
braided brake lines
andreani fork cartridges
power commander 5
auto tuner
arrow header pipes again less weight
mega cycle custom made reverse cone silencer
alloy open mouth air filter housing
remote shocks with 1 inch longer ends then the standard length
custom rear seat cowling with cut down yzf750 seat
no centre stand more weight off
drilled holes in everything little bit of weight off

To come // alloy over swing arm and alloy fuel tank then probably a divorse when my wife finds the reciepts

Great ride, rmack. If my wife had a nickel for all the mods I've put into my bikes over the years!

Thanks Rmack, that's a lovely list. Those Over swing arms are very tempting. But with the pound where it is right now, Japanese parts have gone from painful to just un-thinkable. Half the weight tho!

I totally get where your coming from, my bike has been transformed since it shed a load of weight. It's almost flickable, who'd have thought it.

Thanks for the details, it's given me a few ideas for round two of the CB's diet...

How do you like the Andreani fork Cartridges?

Dodge that divorce... Cost a whole lot more than Japanese bling ;-)

hey thats true re the divorce so will take your advice

the cartridges are worth the dough tried racetech emulators whilst good value for what they cost just not enough for the end result i was chasing but with the cartridges more then i had hoped for

yep the yen is not great ,missed the boat there as when i first got the cb the price landed here for the swingarm was 1450 aud

try 12mm drop on the front forks and 20 to 25 up on the rear providing you have decent shocks and some improvement on the forks it transforms the way the bike tips in etc have spent a lot of time with many different combos

RE: job completed 17 inch conversion - chync_imp - 10-30-2016

Curious if you think the 5.5 inch rear wheel would have had clearance with the standard swingarm. I'm thinking of switching to 17" wheels as well.
