  Fighting back against texting cagers?
Posted by: Rebel73_imp - 10-14-2016, 02:49 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that texting/calling while driving has become so ubiquitous that it's a real clear and present danger, particularly to those of us on two wheels in a big city. Studies have shown that it is just as dangerous, if not more so, than DUI.
Suggestions on how we can fight back? I think our best bet, other than riding defensively, is to pursue the political route and lobby for stiffer fines and penalties and stricter enforcement. I mean it's seriously getting ridiculous. It seems like every other cager is on the dang phone. It boils my blood and makes me want to punch them in the face.
Here is one organization trying to do something about it:

  Battery Issue
Posted by: linuxology_imp - 10-14-2016, 01:05 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (15)

Got to the gas station and tanked the bike up. When I went to restart it battery did not want to turn bike over. Think it may have done a half turn then tried to start, then nothing. Had to push start the bike today. I got the bike back home. It would start at home 3 consecutive times, but figured I probably have a battery going out. Had to come to work in car after parking the bike. Feel free to share insights and the online battery shop you know about.

Has anyone installed Renthal lows on a DLX or know if they will fit? My buddy has some bars he will give me if they do.

  Really considering givin up riding
Posted by: holy666diver_imp - 10-12-2016, 12:57 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (41)

Recently had my first child! My wife could care less if I ride my motorcycle, but now all i can think about is "what if I get in an accident?". My brain won't turn off now when I ride I just keep thinking of getting laid up in the hospital and leaving my Wife and Child on their own. If anything this is making me ride more safe and scan every intersection.

I see more and more people I know getting hospitalized or worse who ride. Where i live people drive like Jerks too running reds never lane checking. I am always in constant traffic.

Am I crazy? I'll miss the bike but I think I'll miss my family more if one of these idiots were to plow into me. I am a great rider, but I am not worried about me I am worried about these distracted drivers. If i lived in a rural unpopulated town I'd never think of selling, but I live in an overpopulated traffic ridden town.

  The new CB1100
Posted by: Jim_imp - 10-11-2016, 09:33 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

So I've been watching this 2017 CB1100 thing unfold. Maybe some of you have seen the latest pictures- they show three models: a black one, a yellow one and a red one. I'm really intrigued by the gas tank on this new model. I've heard it's the same tank they use on the CB1300.

My 2014 CB1100 is one of the best purchases I've ever made. Best bike I've ever owned hands down. But the tank runs down pretty quickly. I don't mind the mileage; 45 mpg is just the price you pay for such a great engine. But I wish I didn't have to pull in to gas up so much. Does anyone know the capacity of this new tank, and if I could bolt one on my 2014? I'd buy the black tank for my bike if it would work.
