  Hard to down shift
Posted by: quail_imp - 11-06-2016, 12:55 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (30)

Two times now i have had to come to a quick stop on the freeway after riding 70-80 mph for a period of time. Both times I stopped only using the brakes. When I tried to shift down through the gears to 1st while stopped while waiting to take off, the trans would hang up between gears ( I say between because the shift light looks like " - "). It was very hard to get it back down to 1st. Does anyone know why?

For those who woke up to find there clock an hour off this morning

hold down both dash buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds

The hour button will start flashing

press left dash button thru to correct hour (it advances up only)

press right button and it advances to minutes

press left button if necessary

press right button and it advances to mi/km

press right button again and it should go back to time which should be correct

Think I got that right lol.

  Converting a 2013 CB1100 to cafe racer
Posted by: SBARacing_imp - 11-05-2016, 11:04 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (3)

Before I get in to it, I'm trying to figure out a few things, hope you guys with the knowledge can help a little, thanks in advance:

1. Can I remove the ABS from it?
If yes, is there a link with a how to?
Will the ECU complain about it?
2. Can I get the under seat triangle completely cleared?
I know it has the battery that I plan on moving under the rear hump.
Anything else there?
3. Air box, can it be opened and run clear?
I'm trying to get it as clean as possible.
4. Any other recommendations? Links? How-to would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben

I rode a CBX back in 1983 and I really think the CB1100 is as close as you can get to that without the extra cylinders.

  2014 CB1100 Custom Seat
Posted by: SBARacing_imp - 11-04-2016, 09:52 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

Hi,
I wanted to make a new seat for my soon to arrive 2014 CB1100. I was wondering if anyone has the measurements of the frame at the seat area.
Looking for frame width at seat (right after tank and at end if not the same).
Length from tank to tail.

Forgot to say please Wink

Btw,
If anyone knows a good seat maker, preferably custom, I'm looking to do a cafe race look seat in Aluminum with black suede and red stitching.

Thanks
Ben

Headlight Guards ( Cee Baileys ?)
Posted by: venturer434_imp - 11-04-2016, 10:54 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (2)

The CB1100 headlight is made of plastic and I was thinking of installing a headlight protector to protect it from being sandblasted from all the road grit..as my rides have started to be close to 100 miles these days..Smile

I measured the diameter of the CB1100 headlight and it is around 7 inches.

Anybody install protectors for their headlights?

I was thinking of ordering one from ceebaileys.
