  Stripped the valve cover

This is going to take a while to finish- lots of little nooks and cranny-

Dremeled my side covers- what do you think?
Posted by: PowerDubs_imp - 03-02-2017, 11:34 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (71)

Since it is too cold to ride, I do little projects instead.

This is the rough cut. I will do a little detail work and then hit em with some high temp clear coat. They will stay 'brushed'- not going for a mirror finish.

  arrow slip on
Posted by: lynnster_imp - 03-02-2017, 06:47 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

I just received my new Arrow slip on and thought I would attempt the installation myself. Forgive the layman's terms here, I'll attempt to describe the problem. I successfully removed the stock muffler (I'm already proud of myself) so onto the install.
Between the new slip on and the base of the exhaust there is a silverish one inch ring of rubber? If I leave the ring on in between the new slip on and the base of the exhaust, the slip on does not match up to the bolt holes. Before I have to call in the guys to help me I wanted to throw this out there to the experts at the CB1100 forum, you guys know it all so I will try to figure this myself with a little help from you"all!
Here's a pic of the slip on with the silverish ring and then the base of the exhaust, I tried forcing the slip on under the silverish ring but that doesnt work, I dont have any experience in this area so learning as I go.
Thanks
Lynn

  2017 Canadian Price release
Posted by: bigsheep_imp - 03-02-2017, 02:25 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (2)

The Canadian price of a CB1100 is now listed on Honda Motorcycles Canada Website. It hasn't moved from last year's entry point of $12,999 and all 2016 stock of black on black with the checkers are $1000 off at $11,999.

The USA lists the price on the website at 12,199 plus tx, pdi, etc...

We all know people pay different prices for things based on negotiations, but to just compare MSRP to MSRP at current exchange rates the 12,199 USD 2017 CB1100 EX sells for $9717 USD in Canada.

Huh

CB1100 K4? Found these photos from a Japanese website
Posted by: stijn_b_imp - 03-01-2017, 07:17 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (8)

Hey guys,

While browsing on Instagram, looking at CB1100's I found a photo of a so called CB1100EX K4. I contacted the guy and he told me it was customised by Honda.

So I went looking on the internet for a CB1100EX K4 edition and found these photos:

Does anyone know anything about these? Imo these look bloody gorgeous HeartHeartHeart

Looks like an alternative for the White House K10 (which still looks nicer though but you get my point).

  2017 engine paint
Posted by: the Ferret - 02-28-2017, 10:48 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

For those that questioned the unusual paint on the cylinder and head on the 2017 CB-EX .... in an earlier discussion/thread I mentioned how it first came about on the late 60's Norton Commandos,(and eventually became popular in the late 60's and early 70's with other bikes) MCD just featured some refurbished Nortons which clearly demonstrates this paint scheme

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2017/02/u...ton-works/

BTW to have a Norton refurbished like this cost $ 34K provided you supply a good donor bike.

How's the $12,100 price of that new CB-EX looking now? lol

  Craigslist Section on Forum?
Posted by: aschem_imp - 02-28-2017, 03:09 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Thoughts on adding a Craigslist section for CB1100 bikes/parts.
I use search Tempest but it doesn't always find items.

Posted by: physiolee_imp - 02-27-2017, 02:36 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (22)

Hi,
I'm from Long beach,90805. quiet new to this forum. Wondering any of you know any private mechanic for CB1100. I gotta get my 8000 mile service done. Bike needs valve adjustment and the honda showroom is quoting 1000 bucks . over 900 just for labor. That's crazy.
Any help would be appreciated.
