So I used the CB for commuting duties a few days this week. It was nice to be back out on a bike again, but jeez it was certainly not all fun and good times. Normally to get to my workplace I'd stick to surface roads, but the bridge that I use for my preferred route is closed for a number of months so I'm riding primarily on the freeway. Translation : "free to sit in traffic". The traffic in Portland is getting worse every year and being out in it on a bike around here at times is just not that much fun (this will come as no surprise to The ferret, lol.)

Side Note: this reminds me of the comedian Stephen Wright who said something to the effect of Why is it called a driveway when you just park there, and why do you drive on a parkway?

To make matters worse, I was running an errand yesterday afternoon. Traffic was still crappy, but not nearly as bad as at rush hour. There was room for cars to move without stopping. Which made the fact that sometime intentionally tried to take me out all the more frustrating. I was on the freeway when someone rushes up next to me in some sort of Range Rover crossover type vehicle. They clearly new I was in the lane where they wanted to be and just started merging right into me regardless, and quickly. They then proceeded to play the same game with a few other folks in cars. What is up with people?

The language filter that I've installed would edit my true thoughts on this matter so I won't bother, lol. But I've got to say that for as excited as I was to get out on a bike again, the past week left me very disappointed with the overall situation. I guess I'm overdue to take the CB out for a ride that does not involve being in the city.

The flat tyre thread had me thinking. Anyone care to share experiences with the green goo? I had a friend used it on his sportsbike. I have dabbled with it in my bicycles but never on a motorbike. I read stories about corrosion on steel rims but generally keen to understand if it's worth it on the CB.

Hello People. New to the forum--just purchased a 2013 ABS with 5 miles on the clock. I'd like to make a few mods right away, and could use your collective wisdom. So...

1. the chair cover on the left side of the 2103--just behind crankcase/stator over--is black plastic. In pictures of the 2104 and DLX model this appears to be raw aluminum, not plastic. Is it, and are the parts interchangeable?
2. the OEM Honda accessory chrome covers for the instruments look nice. are they chromed steel or chromed plastic?
3. not such a fan of the steel headers. Does anyone make a double-walled chromed-steel replacement for the 2013 4-into-1?

Qualifying on BeIn Sports 8am EDT tomorrow

So I question like this came up on another general motorcycle forum I read. Do you fuel your CB11 on the side stand, on the center stand, or sitting on the bike with it upright?

It never occurred to me to do it any differently than on the side stand with any bike I've owned. I don't have the manual on me, but does it say anything about this?

It probably doesn't make a difference which way you do it, right?

I had a 1979 Honda CB 750F that I toured the western half of the country. It was fantastic and served me well, very well.
Now I have the 2014 CB 1100 EX. Man, this bike is even better, by far for the same purpose. It's more comfortable in every way.
My only criticism is the smaller capacity of the gas tank and having to stop for gas all the more often. That said, I love this bike overall.
I have set it up with case guards and a excellent tail rack.
Next month I plan to ride it from NM to PA with my tent, sleeping bag, and a few extras. I can't wait for the trip.
Bring on the weather, I'm prepared for it. Maybe if I'm lucky I'll get to see a tornado. Would love to see a severe lightning storm.[/size]

So, why is there a 60 minute cap on post edits by the OP? Is this a common practice on other forums?

If something is considered offensive or blatantly in error, it will likely be quoted by someone else in the body of their post and beyond the reach of the OP to edit anyway. There is no point for the OP to then retroactively edit a text and pretend he didn't write what is already "out there". The feature to delete a post is supposedly still an option, but this has never worked for me.

There has been more than one post written in haste or late at night that I have wanted to revise later. Not necessarily to "hide evidence", but simply to rephrase something or correct a mistake. The 60 minute cap makes this impossible.

Maybe a 12 to 24 hour "cooling off" period might be more appropriate....just a thought. What say the forum moderators?

Did anyone notice I just made an edit?...had to be quick about it though!

just replaced all four indicator lights with led - love the brightness and; hopefully, the longevity. But now the indicators flash faster - i am guessing less resistance. Anyone have a clever fix? a different flasher part number? thanks
