Wow, what fun you can have on a motorcycle when you take speed limits, cagers and gravel out of the equation!

I met some great people at the track and saw some really great riding. I was definitely in the minority being the only UJM rider there. There was only one other riding s super moto the rest was predominately 600cc super sports from typical Japanese manufacturers. A few Triumph, Ducati and aprilia riders where there too.

I was in the beginner group and there were some really fast riders. My CB just didn't have the power to keep up on the long straights but I held my own pretty well in the corners. One guy tried so hard to pass me on turn 2 that he didn't leave enough slow down room and went straight off the track. (No harm to rider or bike thankfully). There was a few offs that day but thankfully the worst damage was to leavers and rearsets.

I had the time of my life, I don't know how fast I went but I redlined the cb in 3rd was about the fastest I got.

The track community where I live is just a great bunch of friendly helpful and welcoming people I can't help but want to go to the next one.

Sadly though I think this will be my last track day on the CB. I'm keeping the CB for street riding but I think a supersport that I wouldn't care too much if it went for a slide is in order. I will attach some photos later but here are some better pictures than I have anyhow, just follow the link.

Well, as I posted I bought a new 14 CB1100. My goal was to replicate my 82 900F that I grew up on and love so dearly. I bought an 84 V65 Sabre in an attempt to fill the void but I then days later I found the CB. So, I placed an order with Samurider.com for the Hi double seat, black fender kit, black rectangular mirrors and a Plot fork brace. Im 6'3" 260lbs, so the seat i think will help a bit to open the leg angle and allow me to slide further back. Bar risers may be in my future, Ill wait to see after the seat install.
Well, yesterday, my bike has 1 mile on it, it now has 40. My first ride in order to get familiar and break in the bike properly was fun! Mainly around my rural town, stop and go and curvy roads. I kept the bike under 4k rpms, but not on purpose, just the nature if the roads--I did make a couple blasts to 70 mph running through all the gears.
I have not ridden very many bikes in my life, I had several 900f's, yamaha Vmax, my saber and several dirt bikes. I can say without question, the CB100 is for me. The power comes on smooth and instantaneously in all gears, the brakes are amazing, its the smoothest running bike and easiest to ride bike I've ever ridden. It has just enough of what you need and nothing you don't. I will be addressing the exhaust, its just not loud enough for me, but the personal, I love the 4 into 1 setup, so I may add a slip on. I just don't see how you can get a better bike for the money--I paid $6500 out the door, taxes, plates and all. In summary, the CB is a smooth, reliable, powerful, comfortable, good looking retro machine. This is one purchase Ill never regret.

Hi, I have Honda CB 1100 2014. I bought it brand new the summer 0f 2016. I had Yoshimura 4 into 1 and race tuner added to the bike when i took it in for 500 mile tune up/ oil change. So, now I have about 2,000 miles on the bike. So the problem is once I start out on the bike it works fine. After about 3 miles, it starts bucking. The faster your going the more noticeable the bucking. I'm assuming that's when the computer shuts off the choke. Does anyone have a clue what this could be? I don't want to take the bike into the dealer if someone out there has the same problem and can offer advise? Sometimes the bucking goes away and sometimes it stays with me for the ride. Maybe i should disconnect the power commander and hook back up the factory computer and see if problem goes away? The bike works fine other than this annoying problem. Maybe the bike needs to be re flashed as now the bike got a lot louder all of a sudden. BTW the exhaust system finally broke in and sounds awesome. I was really disappointed at first because the exhaust systems sounded the same.

Well, the parts have been ordered, and will arrive mid-month (at my request.)

1. IKON rear shocks: The 7614 series (part# 7614-1507) has a wide range of pre-load adjustment as the aluminum body is threaded, using locknuts to compress the main spring to adjust it's pre-load. Black shocks, black springs, chrome spring caps, chrome body. With lighter weight of the available IKON springs.

2. Traxxion Dynamics front fork kit consisting of damper rod pre-drilled for the Race Tech emulator, the emulator, appropriate springs and spacers. Supplier took into consideration my weight (160) and how the bike will typically be used (street and light touring) to arrive at spring wt and emulator adjustment.

Wish me luck on this project. All I want is a compliant ride on roads where I currently enjoy riding my Moto Guzzi 1200 Sport and 1991 BMW R100GS. I don't expect GS comfort, but something closer to most of the bikes I've owned over the past 34 years.

If this works for me, I'd like to get in a multi day trip to (?????)

From 1971 through 1980 I rode Honda CB750's. I rode them cross country and all around the country.
For a number of years I took a leave of absence from riding.
After more than 25 years I'm more than ready to get back on the road.
Trouble was, I couldn't find a bike that I'd like to ride. Almost bought a bike I wouldn't have been happy with. But I did find a CB1100 sitting in a corner of a dealership. It felt perfect to me.
I am now t he proud owner of a NEW 2014 Honda CB1100.

I'm finally shopping for a few extra add ons for my 2013 standard USA bike but I don't know the official model number. R? Could anyone tell me? Thanks

I bought my Valk when it was one year old and the original owner had left the safety sticker on. I had it off about 5 minutes after I got home using methods I no longer remember. Then, I wiped the tank down with WD-40 and everything looked good.

But, I've come to realize that when the tank surface dries that I have tiny white scratches in the clear coat starting at where the outside of the sticker was and extending out about 3/16 inch.

It's no biggie, but I'd like to get rid of those really fine scratches. I have on hand some Flitz metal polish (and of course, toothpaste). I was wondering if any body has tried to polish clear coat with some mild abrasive like either one of those and did it successfully. Or am I flirting with danger even thinking about such a thing?

I've been using a Spot Gen3 tracker for my rides since my trip to the Arkansas rally. It took a little work to get things going, but I now store the trips on a site called Spotwalla. I'm sure that many of you know about this site, but it was new to me.

Ok, so I've been trying to sell my 2014 Honda CB1100, not because it's bad, but because it is the least great among my 4 motorcycles. But today I found out that it has 65.6 lb/ft of torque. I had assumed that my inline 3, 2007 Triumph Sprint ST to be the champion on torque between it and 4 cyl rivals, but while it's 125 hp obviously blows away the CB on horsepower, its 56.8 lbs of torque pails in comparison, ON PAPER THAT IS! I bring up the concept of paper because on paper my newest bike, a 2016 BMW R1200R has boatloads of torque on paper, but somehow my 2007 Sprint feels more confident, like I guess it can use its small torque better.
Well, I look forward to comments and if anybody wants to buy my reasonably well taken care of 2014 Honda CB1100!

Getting ready for the Fall Men's Trip this year, we are calling the "OKI trip" (Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana) I was scouting a loop in Indiana today. Turned out to be pretty nice except the 1st and last hour, getting to/from Indiana is either an hour by freeway, or an hour cutting thru Cincinnati from the east side to the west side.

Today's loop... (which I named the Chief White Eye creek and river loop)

We took the route thru Cinti on the way to Indiana. Once in Indiana we (my wife and I ) took 50 west to 62 at Dillsboro, 62 south thru Friendship (where a giant primitive event is held every year) a jog on 129 then back on 62 (also known at this point as the "Chief White Eye Trail" for some reason, according to the sign as you turn off 129 (I googled it with little luck) on down to 56 at Madison on the Ohio River (where a giant speed boat regatta is held every year). We ate lunch at a quaint little place in Madison (where I had black cracked pepper potato chips with my sandwich for the first time.. wife liked them, me not so much), Then east/north up 56, following the Ohio Scenic Byway back to 50 at Aurora. Once on 50 we picked up I-275 and followed it south around Cinti to the eastern side.



215 miles altogether. It was pretty scenic and the roads were somewhat hilly and pretty curvy. Probably best I can do for a loop in se Indiana, according to the maps I've looked at.
