Hey Everyone,
I just took a spill at a stop sign where there was a oil streak that got the best of me. Before I knew it, I was on the ground as the rear tire swayed 90 degrees to the right in no time. Luckily all I got was a sprained ankle from the bike resting on me but my bike did get a little damage. I ride a 2014 standard base model and it still runs fine, just seems to be cosmetic damage on the crankcase cover, handlebar weight, and the speedometer meter cover.
My question to you all is that I'm having trouble locating exactly which replacement parts I should be getting. My issue is that aside from the speedometer cover, there are multiple white plastic pieces that are broken near some circuit boards (although no visible damage to the electronics) and I'm hoping that I can replace this without having to buy the whole meter assembly ($680). I've been looking at hondapartshouse.com and other similar sites with the blow up sections of the meter but I can't tell if the "COVER,MAIN" and the "COVER,SPEEDOMETER" would actually take care of this internal problem. Can anyone verify if I'll be alright to get these two parts to replace? I'll attach some photos for reference.
Thanks in advance!

Had a chance to buy this at an estate sale in my neighborhood today.
I of 75 imported into US and supposed to be the last batch ever made, but then BMW released some more 2 years later
it was in good condition with only 29000 miles

Yes I know they're expensive, but has anyone on the forum have any experience with one, looked at one or know anyone that owns a Motus?

| Oil Filter Torque |

The specs call for 19 foot/lbs. Sounds heavy to me, but it is the published spec.
When I performed first oil and filter change at 800 miles, I couldn't get the factory-installed oil filter loose. I'm certain the socket I used was the correct size, but it ended up slipping on the filter. A belt wrench did no better. Finally I stopped by the small shop where I buy tires and have them mounted and borrowed a channel-lock like tool that did work.
I installed the new filter using a filter socket, torqued to approx 19 ft/lb, and all was good ..... until today, when I was performing the end-of -season oil and filter change .... and couldn't get the filter I'd installed 2200 miles ago loose with socket or belt.
Stopped at the small NAPA store that's been here since forever, and asked if they had the channel lock like tool. Yep. The counterman was conscientious enough to ask if the filter was small. He took time to look up the CB1100 filter, and determined the tool was too large to get a grip. Keep in mind, this was NAPA, not a motorcycle shop.
He recommended a NAPA tool with three fingers on it ...... the tighter you turn the tighter it grips. It worked.
I've generally torqued filters to the factory spec, but for over more than 35 years and a dozen + bikes, I've never had one like the Honda filter that just didn't want to come off.
Oh well, problem solved. Just needed to vent.

yep sold my 1976 CB750 today and hated to see it go but it paid for my K10 in full .
crazy part is i handed over the title and the man took it but said no need for it or even to sign it as it was no good in the UK [ have no idea how that works ] but paid me cash and just like that my bike will be loaded into a container with a sports car and "off they go" ! seems to be a big market over their for vintage bikes. Goodbye pretty bike , gonna miss you

At 10 days old, my CB1100E turned 519 miles today.
With blowing dust forecast for Las Vegas Valley, tomorrow, I decided to forgo a ~100 mile ride tomorrow (to reach 600 miles) and change the oil today.
Gave her a coat of wax while the engine was cooling…saves dropping the drain bolt/crush washer in hot oil…not that I have EVER done that!
1. Drain bolt broke lose easy (too easy?) I have a new crush washer, but reused factory.
2. Factory oil filter over torqued. It required a factory cap wrench, 17 mm 6 point socket and a breaker bar to break lose. Cap wrench came off old filter with the tap of a mallet.
3. Cleanest break-in oil I have ever seen. Color only a tad darker than new Honda GN4 10W-30.
4. Four quarts took it very close to max level on site glass.
5. Oil pressure light went out about one second after start-up.
Lubed the chain for the first time. Had some PJ1 left over from my XT250
A couple sheets of cardboard made cleanup easy
Maybe Saturday I can find out if the snorkel mod makes any difference climbing from 3,000 to 8,500 feet. Probably not discernible, especially since I have not previously run it steady over 5,000 RPM, but I do like the intake sound.
