Looks like the posts are getting pretty skinny lately, might have to ask something about what kind of oil people are using? lol

  Time to sell
Posted by: lash_imp - 11-26-2017, 09:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

I have had my 1100 for 3 years now and enjoyed every minute of it. Also accquired a girlfriend in the last year and she has decided that riding with me is a great thing. Unfortunately this bike is just not the greatest for 2 up to go anywhere. I have worked out a good deal with my bike shop to trade up to the new GoldWing so I am removing all the aftermarket parts to sell separately which I will post here first in the classifieds before they go on Ebay or Kijiji. This will include the Wyverns, side covers in Spencer Blue for the Canadians, Daytona seat and some other small pieces. When I have removed all the parts I will post them.

  Solid 3 Day Weekend
Posted by: dbarkdoll_imp - 11-26-2017, 12:03 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (5)

We were blessed with mid 60s all weekend in Central Arkansas, which I took full advantage of. 346 miles total, 172 of those with the girlfriend on board today. Not too bad for the last week of November. Thumbs Up

Need help with part number for side covers
Posted by: jedd_imp - 11-26-2017, 12:45 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (2)

I went here to lookup part numbers
(cb1100sa ac) to order a pair of replacement DLX side covers

https://www.babbittsonline.com/oemparts/...side-cover

Can someone confirm that the part number #5 shown as ( 83600-mgc-305za ) is for a Right cover in the DLX red paint? Or do I need to do more with the part number to specify the candy red aliz color?

Just performed oil/filter change and Stabil in tank
Posted by: ohiorider_imp - 11-25-2017, 10:43 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

The best-laid plans ..................... all three bikes have been prepped for their winter snooze. However, Accuweather has a beautiful forecast for this coming Tuesday here in NE Ohio. Plan on meeting up with my riding buddy on his 2016 T120. Feels like a CB day for me. Probably won't get in more than 125-150 miles total.

Oh, well, that shouldn't cause any issues, and I can always dump a little more Stabil in the tank before filling up with 93 octane (again!)

If the weather throws in a few more nice days in December, the 26+ year old R100GS is up to the task for the rest of the year.

  NC Mountains Trip
Posted by: Bheezy27403_imp - 11-24-2017, 01:47 PM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (11)

Put fresh oil in last Sat. Put new Avons on Fri. Thought I should scrub them in so I headed up to a campground I frequent in the Pisgah National Forest. Rented a travel trailer and spent Monday, Tuesday and the bulk of Wednesday riding the area. Just under 600 miles. Hwy 221 from Linville falls to Blowing Rock should not be missed. Tons of good riding up there, BRP included. Was a bit chilly but I waited til about 10-1030 to head out so it wasn't too bad.
On my journey there I took Hwy 67 out of Winston to 268 out of Elkin to avoid 40. Enjoyable riding. As i got to the forest I had mapped a few great looking, curvy roads through the forest to the parkway. Turns out they were, for the most part, GRAVEL! Went over 2 mountains on single lane, unkempt roads. The CB didn't miss a beat. Was a little harrowing however.
All in all was a great time and I learned to appreciate the CB just a little more.

  Time for new boots
Posted by: bigsheep_imp - 11-24-2017, 01:08 PM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (59)

Hello All,

My first pair of riding boots may need a replacement. I am going to look into resoling and replacing the zipper, but I am also considering an additional pair to rest them when they get wet, etc...

What kind of boots do you have? What do you like/dislike about them? Do they fit the CB1100 stylistically? I prefer laceless for riding, the thought of a lace coming undone and getting caught in the chain is terrifying.
