Little love for the enfield pre storage
Posted by: greekcb_imp - 10-30-2018, 01:12 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (7)

Hey everyone , getting to be that time of year where some of the toys start going away til spring . I have a few bikes so usually the one I ride the least gets put away first , that would be my 07 iron barrel engine Royal Enfield . Anyway I did the usual winterizing stuff , little tune up , detailed , and I fitted a new solo seat in a red/brown color to replace the black one I had . Figured I’d throw in a little end of year parked pic . The CB still got a while to go though lol

Everything is running well - then the weather turns bad
Posted by: ohiorider_imp - 10-29-2018, 10:09 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

Finally, I got the suspension on my 2014 CB1100 working to where I really enjoy riding it. And the old BMW R100GS, with lots of new pieces and parts, is running really nice.

And the weather turns nasty! Earlier this year than I recall in past years. Lots of rain, and temps on these days barely breaking into the 50's. And we're still in October!

Oh, well, all three bikes are ready for springtime, 2019. The Guzzi will still need an oil and filter change between now and our real winter, and all bikes will need a slug of Stabil and a fill-up with 93 octane before they're parked.

It's Battery Tender Time!

  Relocating to Uruguay
Posted by: ivanb_imp - 10-29-2018, 07:56 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

It is with some sadness that I let the forum know that I am relocating to Uruguay and will have to sell my 2014 deluxe. I expected to keep this bike until I rode off into the sunset. It’s that good, but government regulations don’t always allow for such delights.

The story:

Uruguay has restrictions on importing a used vehicle, including motorcycles, even for residents. There are temporary ways around this, such as leaving the country and slipping over to Argentina every ninety days, but there is a cap on how many times that can be done. After six, it becomes illegal. Besides, it will be the only CB1100 in Uruguay. Honda doesn’t sell them there. Being bright red, it is also a flashy machine, and one doesn’t do flash in that area of the world. I will be buying another moto, of course, probably a Versys 1000, but not a CB1100. It will still stand out because most motos are under 200cc but being black, not as much.

Have no fear, I’m not leaving the forum. I’ll lurk but from way down under.

Posted by: dsan1964_imp - 10-29-2018, 07:11 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (10)

What’s happening fellow CBer’s. I had the great idea to re-cycle take out old and add new, clutch fluid and brake fluid , and I put the tops back on and it seems that I keep getting a little leak or blow back mist of fluid. I have thoroughly cleaned and they are not over full I’m thinking about getting new gasket does anybody know any tricks or ran into this thanks.

I'd like to see my 13's shock springs black like the 14. I'm wondering how rattle can paint would hold up under the flex, any thoughts?

Anyone own or have experience with one of these beauties? Was picking up my bike late Saturday from the dealer after 8k service was done and they had an '81 out front just like the picture here ( did not get to snap a photo of the actual bike ).

Loved the styling and look of this bike . Read up a bit on it and I believe it put out about 94-95 hp up around 8500 rpm. Sounds like it was a screamer and would be a blast to ride .

This bike the dealer had was about 38 k on the clock and while in decent condition they wanted too much for it . Looks like cleaner lower mile options have been out there in the past . There was also a sharp silver / blue model.

Intrigued by this bike as a possible mile splitter down the road .

  Accessory connector inside headlight bucket
Posted by: 17-CB-002 - 10-28-2018, 11:41 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (4)

I want to install a handle bar grip heater.
I do not want to butcher the wiring.
Where can I purchase the red connector “Male” connector and pins?
This red accessory connector is located inside the headlight bucket?
Bike year is a 2017
Thanks

It cost $ 20 billion. and connects the cities of Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macau, a total of 70 million people.
Six lanes plus an underwater tunnel and almost 55 km of road. The longest such bridge in the world that connected mainland China with Hong Kong and Macau.

If you look closely, you can see my Biker...lol

Not an oil thread .... just an oil change interval question
Posted by: ohiorider_imp - 10-27-2018, 10:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (26)

I've been faithfully changing oil in the CB1100 on a regular basis. First at less than 1000 miles, next at approx 3000, and most recent at 6500 miles. Oil used is Honda GN4 10w30.

I know Honda also recommends another more expensive oil. Do they recommend oil changes at the same 3000 mile interval, or is the interval stretched out to 5000 miles or more between changes?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Bob
