Strength to tighten the spark plugs.
Posted by: syncronizator_imp - 12-09-2019, 07:40 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (27)

What strength/force should I use to tighten the spark plugs in my CB1100EX 2014 ?
I don't have Service Manual.
Can anyone help me and check in SM ?
How many newton*meters ?
Is it described in the service manual?

  Aggghhh, I can't See!
Posted by: Gone in 60 - 12-09-2019, 06:32 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (22)

I've always had an eye condition that can only allow some semblance of regular vision with the use of hard contact lenses. Glasses are useless. However, after a career of things that are hot, sharp, and usually spinning, I'm finally getting around to treating the damage that this has caused. That requires temporary lenses that don't correct as much as they should, so I have to compensate by wearing reading glasses as well to see and get around. I've avoided riding for a few days to let my brain compensate for what's going on, figuring that I'd rather hit something with a Ford around me.

So, this morning, for the first time, I put the glasses on after my helmet was installed (didn't work when I tried to put on the helmet over the glasses), and after I figured I could manage, I headed to work. However, as soon as I had to roll to a crawl, getting on the metered freeway onramp, the glasses fogged up so bad that I couldn't see anything. Being on a steeply banked freeway ramp, inching forward, I didn't have a free hand to pull my visor completely up.

So, for those of you who wear glasses under your helmets in cold weather, what the heck do you do to keep your glasses from fogging? I need to wear these bloody things for a few weeks before I can get lenses that actually correct my vision.

LED TURN INDICATORS - addition & sharing info
Posted by: peterbaron - 12-08-2019, 04:34 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

Have not started this project yet, just thinking of it during lonely winter days and sharing with others...

Models 2014 & up have very small and hard to be seen turn indicators, especially during sunny days. Audible device doesn't work for me due to hearing loss and ear plugs installed while riding.
I am not crazy about self canceling t-signal module, but cannot rule it out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZct5aRQwUI

Plan to add some additional, waterproof, high visibility 12V LED indicators.
Waterproof LEDs with wire extension can be bought from eBay, or other source.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/5-BBT-12-volt-W...5731.m3795

First, it needs to make a model/CAD*, then 3D printer* to build L & R mini boxes/bezels as per pic. Once everything is ready, simple, parallel electrical hook up to the existing t-signal circuit, in order to function.

Idea
Side note: hope, not to get too lazy with this project.
* Members, who have no access to CAD & 3D printer may use a simple plastic or alloy bracket for similar fitment.

An [url=https://www.rideapart.com/articles/386654/discover-the-ride-new-york-ims/]interesting approach to attract new riders to motorcycling. This session was done in space-constrained NYC:

Couldn't resist getting this.
Although no longer riding a CB1100 I still find this forum the most enjoyable to read.

  Held Titan Evo Gloves
Posted by: Houtman_imp - 12-05-2019, 09:04 AM - Forum: Riding Gear - Replies (4)

I have been using the Held gloves for at least 15 years and really like the quality of these gloves.
Today I received the Held Titan Evo gloves I bought directly from Germany.
They cost $ 400 from Revzilla and other USA sellers but I only paid
$ 237 including the shipping. I bought them from FC Moto in Germany and have been very happy with their service now and in the past.
You have to know your size but can save a lot of money buying from overseas. If you get a set of two in one gloves from Held I would recommend a size larger than normal as a twin chamber takes up a little more room than a one chamber glove.

  2017 & up Service Manual
Posted by: peterbaron - 12-05-2019, 03:48 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (4)

Is there anyone who has the above???

I have 2014 manual, and wonder if 2017 fuel pump electrical diagram and its square/4-pin connector is identical for both models ? I believe these are.
Thanks to all who responded.

Anyone live near Crofton Powersports in Maryland?
Posted by: Bighonda14_imp - 12-04-2019, 12:15 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

I spotted a barely used Gold Wing and I think its the one for me. I'd love someone to see it in person to confirm it's not been damaged in some way that the photos I have seen do not reflect.

Please PM me if you live near there and might be able to see it for me ASAP. Thank you!
