How to empty the fuel tank?
Posted by: Ulljanrich_imp - 12-22-2019, 05:49 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (23)

Good evening!
Is there any trick how to empty the fuel tank of my CB 1100 RS?

I need to remove the tank in order to get access to the winker relay, which I have to change.

But the taking off of the fuel tank is rather difficult when it is filled. Too stupid, but I didnt know that will have to be done before I filled it up for its hibernation.

My Honda snow blowers or my Honda lawn mower have these screws: you open them and all fuel comes out easily. Does the CB have this also although it has fuel injection?

Happy for all help and good advice:
Thomas

while waiting for my gerbing heated soles to arrive, I had a thought.. because I always have extra pairs of new boots, why not devote one pair to strictly a heated pair for the winter months ? .. this way I could fasten the soles and wires supplying the 12v firmly in place.. and if the wires were felt by my little feet, I might even drill a hole through the side of the boot for the wires!! .. this would be an extreme option, but don't put it past me !! haha ..

I've been spending my free time after dark organizing the new shop. I have all of the motorcycle gear and bikes where I want them now.   Honda Announcements
Posted by: Cormanus - 12-19-2019, 03:46 PM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (38)

The discussion about the CB1300 somewhere or other led me again to Honda's Japan site. It's always fun because my being able to read it relies on Chrome's built-in translation algorithm.

What I discovered yesterday and today—aside from looking at the CB1300—was two announcements:

[li]Honda has released the Benly e: electric scooter. If you have Google Chrome on a PC, you can read all about it here.[/li] [li]Since 1948 Honda motorcycles global cumulative motorcyle production reaches 400,000,000 units. The piece notes that, for the first time, in 2018, Honda's global operations 'surpassed 20 million units'. That one is here.[/li] [li]Today sees: 'Launch of the new ADV150 adventure-style mini motorcycle model'. here. To keep the pictures-or-it-didn't-happen mob happy:

  Key Issue
Posted by: Mitch_imp - 12-18-2019, 11:52 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (22)

Hallo from Germany.

When I purchased my 2017 Honda CB1100 RS I was only given one key due to the previous owner having lost both the spare and the spare key numerical data.

The Dealer did send me a "Blank" Honda Key and said that I could have it cut by any local key specialist and then have it programmed at my closest dealer.

The Dealer whom I purchased the bike from is 300 kilometers from where I live.

After exhaustive inquiries with all Key specialists and Honda Dealerships here in Nurnberg I have come up empty handed. The Key Specialists don't have the proper cutting code? and the Honda Dealers don't have the coding equipment (To enable the HIS feature).

I am on my way to Canada for Vacation early in the New Year and was wondering if any of our Canadian members would know if I can bring the original key and the blank with me to finally get my spare key??

Many thanks in advance for any advice.

  Ohlins Monkey
Posted by: Gone in 60 - 12-15-2019, 06:08 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (3)

The Performance Racing Industry Show just wrapped yesterday in Indianapolis. This is a showcase for companies to show off their products for all facets of professional racing, from drag to road course, tractor pulling and anything else that requires a helmet and fireproof suit.

Since the Monkey is such a popular topic here, I thought it was amusing that for their only display vehicle at the show, Ohlins chose one to represent their brand.
