After a delay into the new year (and an increased 121.00 fee for taxes (or whatever the law that passed in Illinois is)) I managed to pick up my 2014 deluxe. Thank you all for the help I’ll definitely be sticking around to learn as much as I possibly can. Hoping to one day get my 82 wing running and made to my liking, only problem with that bike is it’s a bit too tall because the giant bucket seat.. besides that.
I’m getting Pirelli sport demon tires on the back as part of the dealerships so called “deal”. Looking into a shoei full faced wine red helmet to match the bike, along with a cardo slim Bluetooth piece for the helmet. One day hope to get the 500.00 comet fairing to match the bike.
How often do you have to change the air filter? Didn’t get the owners manual but I’ll be looking up the pdf soon here.

Inside American Honda's corporate headquarters in Torrance is a little gift kiosk of Honda Power of Dreams branded merchandise for sale to visitors and employees. It's in the lobby, next to the Starbucks (really).

Of interest was the motorcycle license plate frame for only $3.25 with tax! What a deal! I bought a bunch as Christmas stocking stuffers. If you are in the So Cal area, anyone is welcome. Unfortunately, they don't ship, and I have not seen the motorcycle frames at any dealers or anywhere online except eBay at $15.99 shipped.

Has anyone else noticed the header pipes on the 2014 standard, equipped with a four-into-one collector system, are intentionally designed to have uneven lengths?

With a standard crank design of an inline four, a cylinder fires every 180 deg of crank rotation. The most efficient exhaust scavenging would result from headers that were equal length. The pipe for the #1 cylinder, which has the longest run to the collector on the far side of the bike is intentionally made even longer than it needs to be, with an out-of-path bend. #2 has been made longer as well.

In an equal length setup, the #3 & 4 would be bent to add a little length so as to match #1 & 2.

Any thoughts?

When I leave work in the evening, I can see the reflection of both the front and back of my bike in my office, and the one behind me. When I get on the bike, it's a good opportunity to give all of my lights a quick test since I can see both front and back.

Lately, when I hit the four-way flasher, only the left lights come on for a few seconds, then the right side lights join in. Does that sound normal?

Anyone here have any experience buying from Twisted Throttle? I just bought something for the Bonneville from that site that I couldn't find at any of the websites I normally deal with. Twisted's online algorithm is such that I found the product on their site, and their ad for said product started following me around on my screen wherever I browsed.

I bought it, but it's been a weird experience so far. I can't get an email confirmation of the purchase, and when I email their customer service to get help, I get the "we'll be right back to help" auto-reply, but haven't gotten an answer. Also, checking my credit card transactions, the sale amount was more than what it should have been by a few dollars. Have had trouble getting a person on the phone.

The site looks legitimate, hoping someone has used them and can vouch for their authenticity...

When I roll my bike off the center stand, the stand flips up, but not all the way to the stop. A gentle foot tap and it pops up to the stop. The spring on the left side of the bike is connected and in tact. I don't see a spring on the right side, but I don't think there's supposed to be one there (I didn't check the service manual or photos, though).

I'm not overly worried about this as I will have to have my bike into the dealer for an oil change sometime this month, but I am curious if other people have encountered this and/or if anyone has an idea of what is causing this.
