I assume I bumped a tailight when parking in my garage but now I have a tailight that is hanging, broke from its mount.

My questions are:

1) Is this an OEM setup (or aftermarket)? I bought this bike heavily modified and I cannot find the OEM part number for the mount. Any ideas?

Rossi nearly gets t boned in a turn when a riderless bike keeps running parallel to the track and shoots between Rossi and another rider.
The front wheel of a trailing bike touched the rear wheel of a leading bike, with both riders being thrown off. The leading bike continued running, hit a small embankment in an approaching turn and cartwheeled thru the turn just over Rossi s head

Hey guys, as I'm sure you know if you have a power commander. They only have 3 cuss maps available that don't even open up the possibilities beyond adding a slip on yoshi exhaust. Which basically forces you to spend 500$ more (after a 340$ Power Commander) to get a custom tune for the niche models of bikes like our cb1100.

HOWEVER! Some of my buddies with other obscure models like the Victory Octane (only made in 2017 before Polaris bought them). Have a spot in their forum where guys will share their custom tunes files with other members. You can then just import/export that file (tune) to your power commander if you have the same/similar modifications. Ideally you ride in a similar Altitude and climate also.

So0o0o, I am hoping we may have a few members that are willing to share their tuned bike power commander file for use by other members.

I for one want to put my honed out air intake funnels into the bike. But i know I will need a tune afterwards. And im hoping one of the member's that have already done this are willing to share their tune for similar modifications and altitude.

Now I understand this isn't perfect because no bikes are exactly the same. However, getting a tune thats "pretty damn close" has solved issues for friends and myself in the past. Whether is was lean/rich conditions after modifications or rough idle/RPM at certain speeds after Modifications.

I also understand not everyone uses Power Commander so If you have another tuner like a Juice Box from Two Brothers it could be posted/privately shared as well.


I figure the easiest way for anyone looking/sharing would be the format below.

1. List year/sub model & type of tuner
2. Modifications performed
3. Altitude/temperature at time of tune


Hopefully this can help a few guys out. Let me know if I forgot anything.

** after doing the very common ECU flash for speed limiter removal, Ignition timing, raise RPMs, my bike did not like "Crusing speeds" and had jittery RPMs and throttle response trying to simply maintain 60 MPH on the highway. So I actually had to grab the Power Commander and used one of their generic fuel maps for a stock bike with yoshi slip on to smooth it back out again until I can get a final tune done**

I was recently asked about the advisability of getting an 11-year old a dirt-bike. I advised against it, proposing a street-legal ride insted.

The argument ~for~ was primarily that it is advantageous for a kid to develop his motorcycle riding skills as early as possible, earlier than he or she can legally ride one on public roads. This, in principle, is not something I would disagree with.

However, I much dislike what seems to be the "culture" of youngster dirt-bike-riding milieu. More aggressive use of terrain, more "tricks", more abuse of the machine, more and more spills made less dangerous by more and more protective gear... It is the last item btw. that bothers me most.

Instead, (and especially if money was no object) I would get the 11-year old something like Honda Cub. It is no option for city-dwellers, but in a more rural setting there are usually back roads and lanes to ride on. Awareness of traffic and road rules, defensive tactics in the company of the plentiful idiots that cohabit public roads (in every jurisdiction I know) and cooperation with good drivers and riders and understanding that there are collisions which no protective gear will make you survive should come before the maximum machine handling skills. Those that develop an itch to try real motor-cross competitions when they are old enough to understand the consequences of their endevors are of course perfectly entitled (and have my encouragement) to do so.

Smoky, as in wildfires, not the Great Smoky Mountains.

Seems like half of Colorado is on fire right now, including Glenwood Canyon, which is a beautiful area to visit if you don’t mind riding on the freeway. But there are a bunch of other fires nearby, including on Cameron Pass and near Hot Sulphur Springs, and they’re really smoking up the sky. Took the CB on a hot lap over Berthoud Pass this afternoon and came back covered in ash, like I had just cleaned out a chimney. The normally brilliant blue sky at elevation is opaque, yellow and brown, with zero visibility. Crazy.

I’ve just purchased a 2017 CB1100RS and I want to put stock Honda bar ends back on it, replacing too-small mod bar end mirrors the previous owner added. Part number is [url=https://www.wemoto.com/parts/picture/ho-53105-mk4-620]Here

When I remove the bar end I’m left with a flush-to-end of the bar brassy fitting which the Allen screw goes into.

The problem is that OEM and other bar ends don’t fit flush, they have a section which fits inside the bar.

Can anyone advise is the flush fitting normal or a mod fitting? And do you have any idea how to remove?

The pic shows the screw-hole end flush with the end of the handlebar. So how I wonder does the OEM bar end fit here?! Any help appreciated

Been wanting to do this for a while, but didn’t want to sacrifice a good case.
As luck would have it; did an engine restoration not too long ago and the owner didn’t want the left over parts.
The lower case was broken due to throwing a chain (loose chain or poor lubrication).
