I just installed a new pair of Ohlins model HO 011 rear shocks on my 2014 deluxe. The reason for this post is to ask if anybody else who has installed these shocks has had any issues with the nylon locking screw on the spring ramp. I have never seen a design like this used on a motorcycle shock, and it just does not look like a good design to me. I am concerned that the nylon screw won't perform as designed (the spring collar will lose tension and rotate if the nylon screw fails to secure it well enough), and I question the durability of a nylon screw if it is loosened and tightened repeateably (I adjust my ride height often depending if I ride two-up or not). The locking, C-spanner type nut design seems much more reliable and durable. Thanks for your replies.

FYI: I purchased these shocks from Fast Bike Industries after I read a post from another member on this forum, and I am extremely pleased with doing business with them.

So I decided on a mild suspension upgrade to suit my budget of very little...
My local YSS guy, Walter, put together some rear adjustable shocks to suit my weight, and suplied some Hyperpro progressive springs for the front forks to go with my PD emulator valves.
I had the gators ready to go, so installed them yesterday and am quite pleased with the result..the front feels alot smoother over bumps and more planted in the corners..The rears I cant really tell much of a difference ..Its pretty hard to judge bumps...Happy with the overall look and cost at @ AU$1k for the lot..

Today I put a new Yuasa OEM batterie in one of my bikes , good or bad I change them every 4 years anyway. In 52 years of riding bikes I have never been stranded because of a dead or bad batterie but things can happen . I bought a 1000 amp Noco emergency starter for our cars (yes I have starter cables as well ) and decided that one for my bikes could be handy incase of an emergency. I bought the Noco Boost Sport with 500 amp. The alligator clips are difficult to get on the batterie post on our bikes but I put Boost Eyelet Cable with SAE adapter on all 3 bikes . The SAE connector is also for my heated jacket liner, air pump and if I have to charge a batterie. Now I can leave the tool tray in place . Noco makes very good products , visit their Website for info.

So a couple of you guys noted that I could polish up my headers. I bought the shiz and started applying. I think you're hazing me: the pipes sure felt smoother, but they don't appear much better.

I do not know if this has ever been discussed here, I could not find it.
My question relates to Drive Chains. Do they have to be one continuous chain, no master link added, or can you buy a new Drive chain, and join it with a Master Link.
Question arises because the Clymer Manual says the Drive chain on the GS 750 needs to be the OEM continuous chain with no Master link added by the rider. I have never heard this before, but that is nothing new. I was hoping it states this because in 1980, chain master links and Drive chains were not that good. I bought a good Drive Chain with a Master link from a company that makes Drive Chains for many different bikes, with two new sprockets. In the old days we always replaced both sprockets with a new chain. But on my Suzukis in the late 60's/early 70's, we used Master links.
I need some advice on this one, please.

really hope they'll make it "cb 750 four style" and of course with the possibility to maintain the center stand: it would be the only one in the world with those properties!

Hello all, this forum has been so helpful to me with owning my CB with everything I've needed to do with the bike. The first time oil change thread by Ferret was absolutely great. An online friend of mine has a Shadow she wants to change oil on and I wanted to show her the thread on this website but I cannot seem to locate it? If I remember correctly I thought it was a permanent post. Can someone direct me to it or has it moved? Its late and I'm tired and sometimes that can be the reason for not seeing clearly. Also from reading Shadow forums it looks like those nikes aren't as easy to get to the drain bklt as the CB. Lol

Alright... I was talking to the parts guy at my local Honda dealership. I said that I wanted to go back to regular oil in my CB1100. Previous owner used synthetic. He said that I could ruin the engine if I did so. I’ve seen posts on here about people going back and fourth. Can you guys who have done so clarify this? Thanks!

I plan on changing the oil about every 3-4000 miles.
