new batterie and Boost emergency starter - Houtman_imp - 09-11-2020

Today I put a new Yuasa OEM batterie in one of my bikes , good or bad I change them every 4 years anyway. In 52 years of riding bikes I have never been stranded because of a dead or bad batterie but things can happen . I bought a 1000 amp Noco emergency starter for our cars (yes I have starter cables as well ) and decided that one for my bikes could be handy incase of an emergency. I bought the Noco Boost Sport with 500 amp. The alligator clips are difficult to get on the batterie post on our bikes but I put Boost Eyelet Cable with SAE adapter on all 3 bikes . The SAE connector is also for my heated jacket liner, air pump and if I have to charge a batterie. Now I can leave the tool tray in place . Noco makes very good products , visit their Website for info.
Comanus will add the picture we send them and I thank him VERY much for doing this , I will drink a cold beer on his behalf !

I have one of those booster battery packs in my saddlebag and have used it many times, but never on my bike. I feel like a hero when I rescue someone that needs a jump and they are always amazed that the little thing works. Me, too Thumbs Up

Which one do you have Bob?

Bad batteries had suddenly left me stranded on my 2013 CB1100, and later on the Bonnie. I was able to bump start the CB1100 down a slightly sloped street, but was not so lucky with the Bonnie. My BMW-riding buddy bailed me out with his jumper.

So I bought a similar jumper battery setup, but I have to keep it in my Aerostich jacket as I don't know what I'll be riding. It makes a heavy jacket even heavier, but the piece of mind is worth it.

Have you tried to get the jumper clamps on your batterie posts ? There is very little room for them , only small ones might fit but make certain that they can take the amps.

Houtman, that's a good point. My V-Strom and Bonnie have their batteries up to the seat level. So I checked the CB1100 and there seems to be enough room. The cables are larger than the battery, which is like 2 phones stacked.
