  Staintune installed
Posted by: rakpak_imp - 05-16-2013, 11:37 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (5)

Received my Staintune today and got it mounted. Sounds great and was piece of cake to install. Can't wait till the rain quits to see how it does on the road.

  Wanting the Moriwaki slip-on canister
Posted by: Inline4_imp - 05-15-2013, 02:32 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (67)

I just emailed webike Japan inquiring about the Moriwaki slip-on canister.
I'm assuming I can retain the centerstand, but I asked them anyway. Big Grin
I also asked for a shipping quote.
The Staintune exhaust looks and sounds beautiful, but you guys know how "we" are. Got to have something different!
Hope to hear from them in a day or so. Smile

  Degreasing Aluminum
Posted by: Deftquiver_imp - 05-14-2013, 06:20 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (11)

Hey Guys,

I know this is slightly off topic since no one's bike has developed enough grease to warrant this yet, but it's bound to happen at some point. How the heck do you degreas aluminum? Every forum post/article I see, has conflicting information out the wazoo.

One person recommends a product, and then the next post has someone with a horror story about said product causing oxidation/etching.

Does anyone know of a good product that is actually safe for degreasing aluminum?

Deft

Cool new 125 Monkey bike from Honda for 2014
Posted by: Scoobynut_imp - 05-14-2013, 05:46 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (22)

This is already up on Honda's U.S. website. I think it's cool as all get out. $2999.00 msrp.

  Farkle Fever
Posted by: INTP_imp - 05-13-2013, 09:21 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (27)

Now that I have all the controls and suspension adjusted to my liking, it is time to start messing with stuff. Here are some of the things I am thinking about.

The tank seam. A popular mod is to add chrome or black car door edge protector to either hide or highlight the seam. I think I might go with the black.

Chain guard. I think a chrome one would be nice, are they available?

Front sprocket cover. I have seen silver ones on the Brit/Aussie version. The jury is still out, but I think it would look nicer if it matched the stator and clutch cover.

Rider pegs. A popular mod on the ZRX is to replace them with modified Buell pegs to make them lower.

Brake pads and stainless brake lines. The stock pads make the front wheel dirty. I liked using the EBC HH Sintered pads on my other bikes with stainless braided lines.

What is on your farkle list?

Hello, I just found this forum the other day. I picked up my CB1100 about 1 month ago and just installed a SP Tadao pipe on the weekend. Here is a look to a video if you are interested.

  Instrument cluster loose?
Posted by: Phat Ham_imp - 05-12-2013, 01:31 PM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (5)

Today I noticed that I can wiggle the instrument cluster with my hand. Is everybody else's like that? I want to make sure I don't have a missing screw or something.

  Electrical / GPS

I am planning to install a GPS and found a spare wire in the harness (red connector with a black cap) next to the battery but not sure where I could get the connector for it or if someone has a idea where I could tap power for the GPS
