  False neutral?
Posted by: HikerToo_imp - 05-27-2013, 06:23 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

Anyone ever have this happen?
Come to a stop, in first gear, clutch pulled in.
Shift in to neutral, neutral light is on
Put the kick stand down
Let out the clutch
And the bike starts to lurch forward, like its in gear still !

Then I came back to bike later, turn key on, neutral light is on
Press starter button and bike lurches forward off of sidestand....
caught it just in time, but it almost fell over.

FS: New In Box Moriwaki Skid Pad Set For CB1100
Posted by: SUPERCRUZ_imp - 05-27-2013, 06:16 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (3)

Price Reduced. First, I hope I am not breaking any forum rules by posting this item for sale. Maybe this will be the start of a For Sale Section on this Forum. I recently ordered this Moriwaki Skid Pad set along with some other parts from Webike Japan for my 2013 CB1100. When the item arrived, I found that I had picked the wrong item number and ordered the part in white instead of black. Unfortunately, I did not see the fine print on the color code nor the return policy disclaimer on this item. After contacting Webike about a return or exchange, they inform me this item cannot be sent back for exchange nor returned so I am positing here in hopes that someone might be interested in purchasing this brand new in box high quality skid pad set from Moriwaki Japan for their CB1100. These are high quality pieces still in their original packaging and never installed. The white would look perfect on a white or black CB1100. For those looking for black, I am sure the skid pads themselves could be pained with a nice satin black bumper coater or vinyl paint from Duplicolor. Retail on this item through Webike is $113.62 US + Shipping. I am offering this new in box set for $85 US shipped in the CONUS. International buyers pay shipping. If interested, please PM me with questions or for payment instructions. I will accept Paypal only. No stories here, I simply made a mistake and ordered the wrong color part. Thanks for your interest.

  Bandwidth

Anyone else experiencing this? From time to time I get locked up trying to navigate around the forum and I get a message stating something to the effect "too many users logged in" or something like that.
Guth is this something that will need to be addressed with more bandwidth or something or possibly a different hosting site?

Buzzing sound on startup and slow return to idle?
Posted by: Wereignsupreme_imp - 05-26-2013, 11:29 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (19)

Hi all, I just bought a CB a week ago and I love it. However, two things cropped up today that I needed some help with, I don't know too much about motorcycles apart from youtube and searching other forums. Honestly my mind might just be playing tricks on me but it'd be great to hear from people that actually own the bike.

1) There is a strange buzzing sound coming from under the fuel tank when I turn the key to the on position. I hear the fuel pump turn on but then this buzz that seemed to be coming from the MAF/MAP sensor (not sure) connected to the airbox. I unplugged it and the buzz was still there so not sure where it's coming from. Maybe a servo motor or the solenoid? Or another sensor that I'm missing?

2) I let a buddy take the bike for a spin and when he brought it back, the idle seemed like it took longer to go back after revving it in neutral, like there was a vacuum leak or something. Posted a vid on youtube for someone to compare.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh3wsR4xP...e=youtu.be

3) Like jodyz post, I too am hearing something like a rattle/tinging from the front part of the engine near the headers. May have just not noticed it before my buddy drove it but still worries me.

Thanks for any help y'all can give me. I hope I'm just being a hypochondriac.

  WNY Country Ride
Posted by: BuffaloBill_imp - 05-26-2013, 11:11 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (2)

Road my usual Western NY Country 60 mile ride today. Was out of town in NYC for my 30th wedding anniversary... Had a Great time, but couldn't wait to get back to ride the CB. So glad the weather turned better today!

I live in a suburb outside of Buffalo NY, E. Amherst, I'm seconds away from twisty turny country roads. My usual, regular ride is Tonawanda Creek Road that has both a North and a South side (out & back). Tonawanda Creek road is a at tributary to the Niagara River which connects Lake Erie to the Niagara Falls. It's a wonderful, relaxing yet exciting ride I get the honor of taking daily / weekly when possible.

I ride with wife on my Harley as often as possible, but ride on the CB more as possible thanks to my wife!

This Seat Time section makes me want to go out and get a Go Pro to share the rides... Maybe my next a project. Just what my wife wants to hear... :^)

80 mile trip to the grocery store?
Posted by: CB4ME_imp - 05-26-2013, 09:15 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (13)

A quick trip to the corner grocery store for a can of sweetened condensed milk somehow ended up as a 80 mile ride, complete with pictures. Funny how that can happen, especially on a new CB1100 Big Grin

I tried to stay on main roads only:

Typical scenery in north central Maryland:

A nice stream in southern PA:

A mile from my house:

My wife was waiting patienly when I got finally home.

"Back so soon Honey" she smiled. Man, I love my wife. Heart

Edit - I need a lesson in how to post a picture. Angry
