  Samurider order question
Posted by: 808_rider_imp - 06-18-2014, 07:11 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (19)

I ordered some engine guards from Samurider. Working with Takashi Takase was easy and the guards were shipped yesterday. He provided me with an EMS tracking number however can any of you who have dealt with Samurider tell me which US carrier will be delivering my package? I have never heard of EMS so my guess is that USPS, UPS, FedEx or one of the other carriers work with EMS for delivery in the US.

I tried looking at the EMS site but could not find an answer to my question. I also thought about asking Takashi this question but felt he may not be aware of the local carriers within each country.

Anyway, your reply will be appreciated.

  repair engine cover
Posted by: cbdtran_imp - 06-18-2014, 06:34 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (5)

in a hurry, w.o put down side stand, I drop my bike on its left side. Now it has visible engine rashes. Myteriously, the right side engine cover has some light scratches, it must be someone does it (not me)

on left side, the rash penetrate the paint and show some metal.
on the right, just superficial scratches.

How to I fix it to make it looks news?

thx

  Barber Museum
Posted by: redbirds_imp - 06-18-2014, 05:42 AM - Forum: Motorcycling - General - Replies (16)

We made a trip to the Barber Motorsports Museum in Alabama a few years ago. This place should be on everyone's must see list. The grounds and track are lovely and the museum is just spectacular. Motorcycles of every description beautifully displayed along with some fine vintage race cars. Plan on spending some time when you go as there is much to see.

  saddle bags / hard bags
Posted by: B166er_imp - 06-17-2014, 10:45 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

So, it seems with taillight relocation, many are mounting side bags that obviously were not made for the CB. Which model of bike should I be using that has the same mounting points?

For what it's worth, I would really like some hard cases. I am interested in any so if there are some that are specifically designed for the CB, great. Even better, if there are some that are designed for another Honda, but would work on a CB, with light relocation, I would be into that as well. Especially if it means more selection and bigger sizes.

Night riding - the little things
Posted by: ThomWill_imp - 06-17-2014, 11:46 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (28)

Just got back from a quick 50 mile jaunt on local roads. Met the wife for coffee and pie at a favorite diner which meant riding the rest of the way home in the dark. The gauges on this thing are simply perfect. Well placed and easy to read, but also sumptuously lit and just plain beautiful. Even if you never do any night riding, go out to the garage and light them up in the dark... it is easy to forget how many fine touches there are on these machines. Smile

  Considering selling the CB...
Posted by: jodyz_imp - 06-17-2014, 11:18 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

I've been off the bike for a couple weeks and I really miss riding, but it appears that my ride time will be severely limited for the remainder of this year. After putting approx 9500 miles on the bike in the first year, I'll be lucky if I'll be able to ride at all through the remainder of 2014 then extend that through the winter months. So, the decision to sell, store it away, or keep it running with "garage runs" until next Spring is weighing heavily. Undecided

Opinions?

  Open Face Crash
Posted by: Tortuga_imp - 06-17-2014, 08:05 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (87)

Despite having a glut of very nice full face helmets. I'm still drawn to an open face number for the summer.

I know this has been discussed before, but is just want to know, has anyone (or anyone they know of) crashed in an open face and come to any harm?

I see so many of the retro/Guzzi boys poncing about in them here and I'm getting slightly jealous.

When I was in Italy a few months ago they were ' de rigour ' and I dint see too many disfigured youngsters....

Am I being over cautious, or rightly wary? Sad
