  Luggage Rack
Posted by: Short Timer_imp - 09-04-2014, 03:40 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (22)

Installed the Mr. T's rack today. For anyone contemplating it for their 2014 Dlx, it is very high quality, very solid, and installs without any problems. The instructions are in Japanese but the drawings and diagrams are sufficient and easy to follow.

Degner bags - Who's using them?
Posted by: Lama glama_imp - 09-04-2014, 08:12 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (8)

Loving the bike and all, but miss having bags of some sort. For my needs, it is the one accessory that would let me ride more often and for longer.

Caught trying to balance aesthetics with practicality, so I have to ask: has anyone purchased the Degner bags (official Honda accessory in Japan), does anyone have pictures, and what are your impressions re: size, fit, overall quality?

  Bit of a rant
Posted by: Randy B - 09-04-2014, 07:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (18)

Well I have an issue that it seems that the dealer says isn't one.

Since getting my bike back after the repairs from my "accdident", I have a pulsation in the front brakes that was not there beforehand. Now I have taken it in and the did a run out check and said there was varying thicknesses on the rotors, but neither were bent at all. I can't believe that. The left caliper hit the ground with enough force to do this:

And you're going to tell me that wouldn't bend the rotor? I'm not buying it, but I guess I'm gonna have to.

The rotor needs to be replaced and I REFUSE to replace one and not the other. This will also necessitate the replacement of the brake pads at that time because, again, I will not use old pads on new rotors and vice versa.

So I looks like I'm looking at a $500 front brake job, and I might, while I'm at it, do the rear just so I have new brakes all around and that would make the parts bill close to $750. Crap. Angry

  chrome trim
Posted by: fredkb_imp - 09-04-2014, 03:20 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (17)

Since the daytona cozy seat has plastic chrome trim around the bottom to give an old school look, I thought I would try it with the stock seat. What do you guys think? Good or bad?[Image: 8927ec194ee46c74d06b53e38e7c031c.jpg][Image: 681e1f3d7f87061cc524ce700042c965.jpg][Image: b6af4513183a40ac7ac98f27888b0d91.jpg][Image: f6cff185b43371d81716a5d9b10babf9.jpg]

  Old Styling
Posted by: 1100rider_imp - 09-04-2014, 01:24 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (3)

Yesterday I was at A Fair where I had rode my bike into the fair to park at our local Honda Exhibit. As I was sitting there a guy came up and asked whose bike is this? I replied that it was mine. Then he said "You have really taken care of that old bike and it was in great shape, What year is it?". I told him that it was a 2013 model and he had a hard time thinking it was not an older CB750. I guess Honda did a pretty good job to make it look like a retro design. It had one guy fooled.

  Wyvern Single Megaphone Exhaust System
Posted by: Gumby 1100_imp - 09-03-2014, 10:57 PM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (6)

http://www.samurider.com/?p=18319/#itemImage

Is anyone familiar with this Wyvern system? I could not get much additional info even directly from the Wyvern site. It is pricey, but the craftsmanship and performance improvement looks hard to beat...plus it looks like the centre stand can be retained.

My main concerns would be as follows:

1) Access to the Oil Filter: Do the headers have to be removed for access?

2) Rainbow Finish on Titanium: Does this change or discolour with time?

Thanks in advance!
