Wyvern Single Megaphone Exhaust System
#1

Is anyone familiar with this Wyvern system? I could not get much additional info even directly from the Wyvern site. It is pricey, but the craftsmanship and performance improvement looks hard to beat...plus it looks like the centre stand can be retained.

My main concerns would be as follows:

1) Access to the Oil Filter: Do the headers have to be removed for access?

2) Rainbow Finish on Titanium: Does this change or discolour with time?

Thanks in advance!

why are the lines so squiggly on that dyno report? Looks like a lot of roads in Kentucky

The results are pretty much consistently higher than stock, but do seem to mirror the dips and irregularities.

My guess as to why it seems very squiggly is that they may have dialed down any averaging algorithms on their dyno favoring more accuracy.

I did find that at least one forum member had full ti headers that turned gold with time. I think he went with the full polished option initially, rather than the rainbow effect, so his pipes seemed to turn a uniform gold rather than rainbow. If they started off with the "rainbow" colouring and stayed that way I would be happy. But if even the rainbow versions turn gold, the only benefit would seem to be some weight savings and the flow characteristics of "hand-bent" tubes.

dUh bought Acks hand bent titanium pipes and they are all rainbow flavored.

Yea if the power gain is to be believed, if I read the dyno right, 15 hp gain at 5000 rpm would be substantial..hard to fathom really.

Nice looking setup, the titanium with multiple collection points is pretty slick.

There are a couple of members that own titanium systems, I don't believe their coloration is reduced as a result of the heat (if anything I'd think it would become more intense), but I'd have to defer to them to be sure...

I do have the dual Moriwaki Titanium system that ACK had.

I put 1700+ miles in 4 days thru rain and even a few dirt roads when I went to Deals Gap area end of August. When I got back, the header pipes were covered with so much road grime, one could barely notice the rainbow coloring. After a S100 bath, all dirt/road grime came off - leaving the headers looking like the day I got them. Rainbow effect is brilliant and bright, and I am seeing no discoloration at all in the form of yellowing in the headers themselves. I have put close to 3,000 miles on the bike with the Titanium exhaust installed. The headers look perfect with no spotting at all. The collectors under the motor do have a golden yellow tint to them, but that is the only part of the system that has the golden yellow tint. I’ll take pictures of any part that you would like to see, if it helps in your decision making process.

On my seat time post of my first trip, you can see the exhaust when the professional photographers were on the pull off areas.

That's a good-looking system, esp. if you like the rainbow effect and care about keeping the centerstand. If I ever decide I want to throw that kind of money at my CB, though, I think I'll have to go with that Pipemasters 4-into-4 setup.
