| OK for a big guy? |

I'm 6 feet and 250 lbs. Last two Honda's were a 1994 750 Nighthawk and a 1981 CX500 Custom, but I didn't weigh quite what I do now that I'm 50 :-).
I'm looking for a bike to putt around town on, ride to work. My daily commute here in Houston is about 5 miles on roads with 35-40 mph speed limits.
Is the general consensus that the CB11 is OK for "fatter" guys like myself?

I currently have a bonnie (mag wheels, D&D exhaust, gel seat, and a bunch of odds and ends). I am thinking of getting a CB and had a few questions.
1. For those who had both, what are your general thoughts between the two? Anything you regret, wish you knew, etc?
2. I am looking for a bit more 2 up riding for short weekend trips (couple of hundred miles). Will this bike handle it well?
3. How hard are valve checks etc? I've done my own maint. on a number of bikes - I thought my Kawi 250 was pretty easy to work on. My Guzzi California, was alot more annoying to wrench on.
Thanks!

I was enjoying a nice breakfast on the patio of Café Topes in Carlsbad with my wife this morning and saw a beautiful, red CB1100 with a chrome rack and saddle bags ride by. It was around 11:30 AM/ 11:45 AM. Anyone here? It was my first spotting of another CB11 in the wild!

Anyone longing for 2013 Meter covers shouldn't pay around the advertised 50 dollar price, but instead get them for around 20 dollars on [url=http://www.amazon.com/Honda-08F72-MGC-D30-Chrome-Meter-Cover/dp/B00DSPE0FK]Amazon.

| Torque-Stripes? |

I have a question for you all. I've noticed on motorcycles sometimes the bolts have white paint marks on them, "torque-stripes," to indicate the bolts have been torqued. My question is: are these done at the factory, or do mechanics also apply the marks post-factory after they have torqued the bolts? Here is why I ask - I bought my CB1100 used with 526 miles. I asked the dealer if it had had the first service done. He said - "I'm sure we did it when it was brought in at 526 miles." I pressed him, and he maintained it had been done. However, when I look at the oil filter, it has the torque-stripe marks on it. If they were applied at the factory, it would imply the filter has not been replaced, and the first service has not been done. Anyone know?
