  LED turn signals
Posted by: Elipten_imp - 04-07-2015, 11:34 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (32)

For those that want to install LED turn signal bulbs in the stock turn signals or replace the turn signals with LED units, here is what is required.

The stock Honda flasher unit will hyperflash if LED replacement lights are installed.

One can purchase a digital flasher made by Posh for the CB1100. Very easy install, no modification to the wiring harness. I bought the unit from Samurider, just under $100.

The replacement is slightly longer than the stock unit. No fear

Lift gas tank, locate original flasher on left front area under the tank. Disconnect the two electrical connections.

Remove unit, remove the rubber band that holds it in place. Install the rubber band on new flasher unit. Even though the new unit is longer it will fit, just make sure the wire running to the left and around is not trapped under the flasher. Reinstall the tank and you are done. No more hyperflash.

Enjoy!

  2014 Accessories???
Posted by: White Dog_imp - 04-07-2015, 10:50 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (18)

Why are so many after market parts available for the 2013 but not the 2014? I did a search on the web for windshields and nothing came up for 2014 CB1100. I have the Puig Plus and it fits the 2014 but offers limited wind protection. I prolly need something larger for my cycle.

Re-tune/flash necessary with full exhaust upgrade?
Posted by: Rebel73_imp - 04-07-2015, 09:13 AM - Forum: Accessories/Modifications - Replies (11)

I've got my eye on the Moriwaki black 4-2 exhaust. Does the bike need to be re-tuned?

I mean, I intend to do the Guhl flash anyway, but I want to do that AFTER so I don't have to flash all over again.

SlipOn Exhaust For 2014 CB1100 Deluxe
Posted by: Honda4Ed_imp - 04-07-2015, 08:30 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

Put my Deluxe on a diet, which balanced the appearance and dropped about 20lbs.
Traded two major mufflers and a center stand for a pair of Coffmanexhaust slip ons.
I have a lift so I don't really need the center stand.
Cranked up the db's to a sweet level yet not offensive - and its stereo! Not exactly like my 1970 CB750 but sooo nice.
All this for a very reasonable $440.

And the logo red matches! How cool is that!

  Black or Red ?
Posted by: kballowe_imp - 04-07-2015, 02:19 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (42)

I sold my Red 2013 CB1100 last fall and now wish I had it back.

As luck would have it..... I found a dealer that has 2013's and 2014's in stock and there's a 1,500 difference between the two.

I'd rather have the red, but I like the idea of the updated exhaust and the six speed transmission on the black (2014) one.

Anyone?

Also, do the accessories such as engine guards, seats, rear rack interchange between the two year models?

Thanks

  Riding Tips
Posted by: linuxology_imp - 04-06-2015, 11:19 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (42)

This thread is for all to share riding tips that others may not know or even those many do know. They can even be tips that work for you. I am returning to riding, so it has been a joy to get back on the seat and enjoy the ride. Here is one that I just experienced.

Keeping feet closer to the bike allows me to feel more connected than my feet floating out or just laying on pegs. Never knew this before and read it somewhere though can't find it now.

  Ride to Roosevelt Lake
Posted by: Griso Guy_imp - 04-06-2015, 09:30 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (5)

I rode up to Roosevelt Lake/Dam today. I wanted to test out the new Road Comet that arrived last week. Prior to the Road Comet I had a NC Street Shield on the DLX. It work well enough but I wasn't happy with the look. The Road Comet looks great and performed pretty well considering the early Spring weather here in AZ. It's always windy this time of year and typically the wind gusts in the canyons are pretty strong. Anyway I snapped a couple of pictures of the bike in Superior AZ. Pretty good day ands yes it sure beats working....

My Trip to the Barber Museum

I wanted to share these pictures with you. If you ever have the opportunity to spend a day in the Barber Motorsports Museum, do it! While enjoying these pictures, keep in mind that something like 98% of the vehicles you see could be track ready in a couple of hours.

Enjoy! Sorry that they are not in perfect order...

These bikes are waiting to be restored, this is about 1/4 of the bikes waiting!

Back to the beauties!!

I even met and had a chance to speak with Mr. Barber. He is a true gentleman.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!!
