I was out on my DLX doing a few errands, any excuse to ride it, and the sun came out ! Yay ! So I decided to take a sprint out to Madaket. Madaket is our western most village, beautiful sunsets, one restaurant with excellent Mexican food ala East Coast, lots of fish dishes, a fire station the size of a very small garage and a lot of houses. The ever shortening end of the road just turns into beach. We usually loose about 10 to 15 feet of road every year, looks more like 20 to me this year.

To the right of the "end of the line" is our only public vehicle bridge made famous by our WW2 Coast Guard Heroine, "Madaket Millie" History buffs click [url=https://confessionsofacapecodprinter.wordpress.com/2011/12/17/madaket-millie-a-coast-guard-legend/]here.

Next, on to Madaket Harbor which is a well protected harbor....soon to be full of boats....

On the way back into town I stopped at Hummock Pond. In the far background is "Seagull Mountain"....has to go somewhere.

ACK, there was a blue Bonnie parked across from your place this afternoon. Didn't get a close look at it, but it looked nice.

Our 20-yr old son is the one who got me into motorbikes in the past two years. Already he's logged well over 3000 miles on two different bikes ('06 Suzuki SV650 and '01 Aprilia Mille). Recently he convinced me to go 50/50 on a bluetooth headset pair for when we ride together. Since he sells bikes at a Honda dealership in the Chicagoland area, he gets reliable inside information.
We decided to go with the UClear HBC100 Plus dual pack set up, and we are quite pleased. The range is decent at just under 1/2 mile, and the clarity is very good. The small, mini mouse-shaped externally mounted works are easily operated with the left, gloved hand. Best of all, there is no boom mike to deal with since the voice gets picked up inside of our full face helmets.
Meanwhile, I'm still adjusting to being able to hear him whistling to himself at times. I also get to "enjoy" the aftermarket MP4 exhaust note on his SV650 with more definition and clarity, and from farther away, than ever before...! Ah, the benefits of modern technology! LOL

| Lane Splitting in California |

So I was on my Cb11 yesterday after work and was lane splitting in stopped traffic going about 3mph. I ended up in a tight spot but nothing the CB could squeeze through when suddenly traffic started moving and I had a Semi truck on my left start to move too close for comfort and I ended up clipping my mirror in a mini vans mirror. To my surprise there wasn't even a scratch on my mirror! The mini van didn't honk or yell at my not sure if they even noticed it, but their mirror didn't move either. Anyways out the 2 years I have been commuting to work this is the first time I clipped a mirror. I don't think I'll be splitting by Semi Trucks anymore lol Even at 3mph in 1st.
Any one else ever clipped a mirror in Ca? Also is there lower profile mirrors for the cb anyone recommends? (not bar end mirrors).

I recently bought a 2013 CB 1100 new from the local Honda dealer
After riding it a while I noticed a loud ticking /pinging sound while accelerating.
The dealer contacted Honda and they said they wont do anything about it under the new warranty. That is very disappointing. The local dealer is now checking the valves.
have any of you experienced this. The bike has been sitting in the shop for almost 2 years before I bought it

| My cheap trick for a rear rack top box! |

I had installed one of those on my '85 Kawasaki Vulcan700 some 20 years ago, and I was surprised to see that they still make them. It was a little weird, but when you think about it, it's no worse looking than some of them expensive rugged top box you can spend several hundreds on, and this one is only $30. I will attach it to the Honda rack which should arrive soon. It's gonna look good you'll see. It's got black, silver, and the handles are red. You can even lock the handles with pad locks if you want. Oh yeah!
I will follow up with pictures, and the system I'm going to fabricate, to make it a quick release removable trunk. Who knows, might even put LEDs on it!

It's only 8 US gallons. In comparison the Honda Top Box Kit is 35 liters, or 9.25 US gallons. However the Honda Top Box would have to be topped off with soft items if filling it up to maximum capacity to accommodate the curved lines, and shut.
