Forum Website Issues

So ... thanks to my son, I can report that the problem lies in a default setting in Chrome which forces websites to default to the secure "https://" setting. When one loads "Honda CB1100 Forum - For fans of Honda's CB1100" the browser looks for the various screen images using the https protocol and can't find them meaning they don't display. As I recall this forum has not been set up for the https protocol so it is not surprising.

See this page: How to stop Google Chrome from automatically redirecting to HTTPS to learn how to fix the problem.

I have followed the instructions there and so far, so good.

To each his/her/their/its own, Au₂O₃. I have used Chrome extensively in the Apple Mac OS and found it generally reliable and fast. I find Safari works well in the Apple ecosystem. I don't find Chrome as satisfactory on iOS and avoid using it there.
Thank you and your son for your help but it did not work for me.
I asked my son for help and still no cure for this issue, and after reinstalling/updating the most resent Google Chrome my other Mac got screwed up
For the time being, I am using Firefox browser for one laptop.
Will take it to work to see what our IT professionals can do with it....or will stay with Ff from now on...
Thanks.

That's a good question GO.

Update: I've thought about what I actually did to get Chrome working again. Initially I went to the Chrome system page (chrome://net-internals/#hsts) and entered "cb1100forum.com" in the "Delete domain security policies" box. It resolved the problem, but not for long. For no reason I can recall I then tried entering "cb1100forum.com/forum/" into the "Delete domain security policies" box. I've not had any problems since.

Is this the only operation you did, in Delete domain security policies box...any other boxes????...where it says (You cannot delete preloaded entries)?????
Did you restart your pc or went directly to the CB forum...cos did not work for me :-/

EDIT

I fixed it, not so sure what I did, cos I did many things simultaneously , so my first Mac is fixed and now I fixed my other Mac = all 4 computers and iPhone work again.
Before my two Macs were not properly displaying CB1100 Forum
So far OK, will see if it works after turn off = it WORKS
Comanus inspired me to work harder = :thanks: :worship:
:banana::celebrate::excited::clap:

Hey PB, my iPads, iPhone and MacBook Air all work good! I use Safari though…

Not only I fixed it, I also discovered what was the reason behind it, at least in my case...so it went the crooked way again and I fixed it again...now I have to fix the thing that is causing it.
Two problems are: I did not change any settings I think??, and I am not computer savvy :s
I will explain the fix in my case in few days.
I employed Firefox for back up on my two Macs at home.

Yeah, weird. The site looks fine on my phone, but is unformatted on my computer.

Okay. I've been having the same issues with the forum as others posting here. Everything was fine until last week, normal Thursday, changed to nothing but plain text script on Friday.
On my phone, no change, looked as usual.
I tried what Cormanus suggested on page 5, and it worked. Now back to normal view on my laptop.
So, a big thank you sir! I never would have found this on my own.

I have the exact same problem described above. Same on my PC, using Chrome browser, and on my Samsung phone. Been this way for over two weeks now.

I have tried every fix described above. It did go back to a normal screen display, but only temporarily. As soon as I logged out of the website and logged back in it was back to the junk screen display. I tried all the "fixes" again (and cleared all my browsing history) but nothing works.

Maybe if I never log off, it will stay ok for me. Kind like George trying to preserve his high score on Frogger.

Some members have expressed that FireFox solved their pain.

FireFox on Samsung Galaxy is available. Try the same Cormanus "Chrome hack" on FireFox.

Just logged in for a random visit, had no idea folks were having problems.

Anyway; since I was clueless I hit the site using Vivaldi (got tired of very slow responses and problems with youtube videos on Firefox and Safari - especially Safari); and no problems. So far. Vivaldi has its' own problems (could be me getting used to it). In any event there are MANY browsers out there to try. So, I offer that rabbit hole for the crew. :)
