Early Thursday evening, we will take the CB1100 Community Forum offline to complete a full backup of the server and database. Early Friday morning, we will begin the data import into our new Forum.

Although I asked you to plan for up to five days of downtime (the worst-case project manager in me talking), there is reason for cautious optimism.

What to Expect Over the Weekend

Check in starting Saturday afternoon: If you still see the Maintenance Notice, we are still at work.

If you see the new Forum Header: We are open for business! Come on in, look around, start testing threads, and make some new posts. Please load some graphics, too. The larger the better.

Spot an issue: Cormanus will provide instructions on where to document anything broken so we can resolve it and share updates with everyone.

A True Lifesaver: Mostafa has kindly accepted my invitation to assist. We are blessed to have such a great developer helping with all Forum-related matters. If you or your company ever need a talented developer with serious database skills, Mostafa should be at the top of your list. You can reach him via forum messaging. In addition to his technical skills, he is a good man with a great sense of humor. Thank goodness he has not blacklisted me yet.

Logging In for the First Time

  • Existing Username & Password: For most of you, your existing username and password will work just as they always have. When you log in, the system will automatically upgrade your account security behind the scenes.
  • Log In Fresh: Any old "Remember Me" sessions will be expired, so everyone will start logged out for their first visit. Think of it as your first day in the Land of Cormanus.
  • If Your Password Doesn't Work: Legacy password formatting can occasionally cause an issue. If you run into trouble, simply click the "Lost your password?" link on the login screen. XenForo will email a reset link to the email address on file for your account.
  • Your History is Safe: Your post counts, join dates, avatars, signatures, and private message histories (now called Conversations) will all be waiting for you. Mostafa and I have a plan to migrate the "Like" counts, too.

Thank you for being such a supportive crew. I hope I do not test the limits of your patience. See you on the other side. David

Will the new site still be located at cb1100forum.net?

Yes. we will update the DNS record to automatically route to the new site using the same URL. Great question! David

This Forum will go offline in 15 minutes, so we can take a backup and prep for the XenForo migration. Enjoy your evening. David

Final Reminder

A final reminder that the forum will be offline from the evening of Thursday 17 September 2026 to enable migration to new software.

If you have not already done so, please check your profile to make sure your email address is current to make sure that the new software is able to reset your password in the event of any issues.

See you on the other side!

Geez! I got that posted in the nick of time.

Migration Completed / Next Chapter Begins

Good afternoon, although we had a few unexpected scrapes and rubs, we have completed our migration from MyBB to XenForo. We migrated

6,959 User Accounts
16,118 Threads
302,658 Posts

The data appears to have imported cleanly. The broken links that existed from our first migration came over as they did originally. Most of them are from users who have moved on or content that is no longer referenceable on the Internet. However, if something that matters to you needs fixing, you have the ability to edit any post or thread you own. We do store a history of all changes. Some of you may need to tweak your profile picture. If you need help modifying something or creating a new one, I am happy to help. Send me a personal message, and we will get to work.

Part of the fun, and perhaps the frustration, of a new platform is exploring how it works and taking advantage of new capabilities. XenForo has better graphics capabilities, enhanced security, links to your social networks, and fewer administrative challenges.

After you have had a chance to log in and work in XenForo for a week, I will begin publishing feature updates detailing XenForo capabilities you may find useful. For now, we encourage you to explore on your own and note problems as Cormanus directed in his Forum Issues thread. We will attend to them as quickly as possible. Please use the Thread so everyone can learn from your experience.

If a personal matter merits discussion, please use private messaging to reach me, Cormanus, or pdedse. We will respond as quickly as possible.

Enjoy your weekend. David
