  CB1100 Black, in AZ
Posted by: fazer6_imp - 04-18-2016, 07:18 AM - Forum: CB1100 Photos & Videos - Replies (7)

Still waiting on Arrow headers to be shipped from Italy, and just ordered the Japanese seat and Type 2 bars.
Also added the superbrace to the fork, since the fairing puts more strain on the fork, and it was noticeably wobblier than before. Brace seems to have taken care of it.

  Lorenzo to Ducati

Lorenzo did what was expected and signed a two year contract with Ducati for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. 20 million dollars a year. Suzuki will probably lose Maverick Vinales to Yamaha.

  The Glory of Spring

Ran errands yesterday in the P/U. The roadsides are really looking lovely; wildflowers everywhere and the pecan trees are leafing out as proof of warm days to come. Today I had to cover the same ground by two wheels. Too beautiful out to do otherwise. The route was east of home toward Wayne County where the sweet onions are being harvested now, filling the air with their aroma. Red clover is at it's peak now also, lining many roads and covering fields.

Strolling in the clover.

Tractors at an onion field have just finished turning up the crop for harvest.

Here, the onions are being placed in boxes then loaded on to flat bed trucks and taken to cold storage.

Saw this on Web Bike http://japan.webike.net/products/21677709.html
It has four different baffle options: normal, straight 22.5, 29.5 and 40.5
What does this mean and which one would be the most quiet?

  "Gathering of Norton's" Yesterday
Posted by: glenridgerich_imp - 04-17-2016, 09:36 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

I'm sitting on my commuter bus traveling into NYC this morning as I write this, comforted by thoughts of yesterday's adventure. I rode 146 miles (round trip) from my North Jersey home to Washington's Crossing (yes, that one) Pennsylvania for the annual "Gathering of Norton's". What a day...blue-bird sky and temps that reached into the 70's (a treat for this time of year). There must have been 50 or more Norton's there, but more important than the Norton's (which to be candid, I never liked all that much) there must've been over 1,000 bikes and bikers of every description! Thanks to Capo, who mentioned this event to me (in a post). I looked for Capo by looking for his CB but couldn't find him or any other CB's. I kinda liked that among 1,000+ bikes, there wasn't a single CB beside mine, it made me feel kinda special. I did get several compliments on it. Based on the reception I get on my bike, and the fact that everyone seems very impressed, I can only conclude that Honda should have done more to promote this bike. Anyway, all that matters is that I'm really happy with mine. It was a great day, so I thought I'd share!

  Canadian or European CB
Posted by: Greg Davis_imp - 04-17-2016, 05:17 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (23)

I have a 2013 with 500 miles on it. However, I really, really, love the spoke wheels, the 4 into 2 pipes. I was thinking about trying to purchase a CB from either Canada, if they offer spokes and pipes. I just don't that to go through the expense or hassel of converting mine. Rather buy another CB Anyone know how this might be accomplished or if Canada has a CB with spokes and pipes. ?? thank you

  Breaking in the FJ-09
Posted by: the Ferret - 04-17-2016, 04:06 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (18)

Son picked up his FJ-09 Yesterday. Today we took it down to our favorite playground in N Ky (Empty Sea will recognize it). Can you imagine having to scrub in tires and break in a motor on 147 miles of this?

First a little of the roads by the house

  Mt St Helens
Posted by: kennyw - 04-17-2016, 02:40 AM - Forum: Seat Time - Replies (18)

Spent the Saturday riding from Bellevue, WA to Mt St Helens and back.

Started off the morning meeting at a local coffee stand. There was a very diverse group of bikes.

We had another stop half way down to meet up with more people. We started out from here with 21 bikes.

From here, no pics from the road as I don't have gear for that yet. But we lost one bike on the way up when a gal hit her husband's bike and went down at 60 mph. Luckily, no serious injuries or damage. The couple broke away from the group and rode home.

Here is a couple shots from the observatory.

Then the sunset from the restaurant on the way home.
