I think there have been discussions about center stand technique. Over the past few weeks I have been experiencing soreness in my left wrist and lower forearm. Until last night I did not put 2+2 together and figure out that it is my center stand technique for my CB that is doing it. I normally stand on the right side of the bike, put my right hand on the silver frame piece under the seat, put my right foot on the center stand lever, and my left wrist on the handlebar. I am not a lightweight, but my weight alone does not get the bike on the stand--I seem to have to pull the frame up with my right hand while pulling back with my left hand. Something I am doing is straining my left hand. What am I doing wrong? Is there a better technique? Thanks!!

This 2014 CB1100 DLX is located in Michigan. It's shows on eBay as a 2014 Honda CB1100, CB1100SA. Looking at the listing it is a DLX, which is what a CB1100SA is. Just FYI, I have no association with the listing or the seller. I just happened to notice it.

My first "proper" Honda motorcycle was a 1965 CB77 305cc Super Hawk. I loved it! I bought mine new for around $700. It was a beautiful bike. The vertical twin made 28 HP and top speed was right around 100 mph.

Just wondered if anyone else experiences a gear whine in second gear. I get bikes have straight-cut transmission gears, so this is normal to an extent, but in second gear only, my whine is probably twice as loud as in the other gears. It's not abnormally loud, or getting worse, just a little disconcerting I guess.

Noticed my FB did not actuate the light before my ride today. Obvious issue, one connector disconnected.

After checking, it came on and stayed on.

Reason is that the small screw holding the switch to the HB backed out just a tad, enough to allow the switch to move with the lever and fail to deactivate the light (remained closed).

I pulled the switch off, checked it, reinstalled with a drop of blue Loctite. Cannot tighten those too much or the switch could crack.

Another thing to look out for. Think I will order a second just in case it fails.

Now I inspected the bike and indeed the black stuff returned, so there must be a leak somwhere in that area.

I expect to deliver the bike again at the dealers at the end of the month/begin July when a new IACV sensor comes in, but meanwhile I will contact him about this "new issue" so he can have a look at that as well when I bring the bike in.

PS: I do notice that my oil level did actually drop, so I assume its because of that leak because these bikes dont drink oil according to common knowledge huh.

Started the day with cold, wet weather. I didn't have the space for two jackets on this trip so I layered up under my mesh jacket with a large rain coat in my saddle bag that I would put on within 2 miles of leaving home.



The weather cleared up on the east side of Snoqualmie Pass. It was 60-70 and mostly sunny the rest of the day.










I think stopping to take a picture of that grain elevator saved me from an unexpected conversation with the law. The guy I passed a few miles before stopping here ended up passing me again and getting there attention first a couple miles down the road.
I even stopped at Palouse Falls for a quick picture.



I made my way into Idaho on US HWY 12 and this little town was the last has stop for 88 miles.




I was supposed to stop and camp shortly after that gas stop. However, it was only 6pm and this sign was there.



There no traffic for miles. I'm sure I will have some good video when I get a chance to download it from the camera.

I'm hearing a noise in the right side head of the engine, sounds like an out of adjustment valve, but the bike only has 3900 miles on it (2014). Most of the time it's when the engine is getting warm to operating temp, and can be heard throughout the rpm range, and louder under load. No loss of power or rough running. Could it from the crank gear out of adjustment, or did the valves come out of adjustment prematurely?
