Question for Moderators

Is there any affiliation with this forum and a facebook forum called "CB1100 owners forum?" Through some type of facebook snafu tonight, as soon as I got confirmation of an order I placed with a secure website, I received an instant message on facebook messenger asking if I owned a CB1100. Thinking it was the vendor, I replied "yes". (I had to list the CB1100 as the cycle for which I was ordering a seat pad). Conversation progressed that he thought I was applying for membership with the CB1100 owners forum on facebook. I asked him what my order from Alaska Leathers had to do with his facebook forum? He said "sometimes facebook messenger goofs." I reckon! I have deleted messenger on my iphone and changed my privacy settings on facebook. Whether I stay or not depends on what shows up. Quite often, what I have viewed on a vendor's website shows up on my facebook page--sometimes within minutes. This seems like an invasion of my privacy.
As a precaution, I have been in contact with both Alaska Leathers and my credit card company. Alaska tells me they have several layers of security so not to worry. Bank in essence said the same thing but I'm going to be watching my credit card account very closely.

Differences between stock seats, Std vs. Dlx

This might be difficult to know, because most of us do not have both seats to compare, but I'm thinking about "upgrading" to the DLX seat on my STD. I know the DLX seat looks different, like a tuck n roll pattern in the seat covering, but what about the difference in actual comfort?
The stock seat on my STD is a bit hard and after about 100 miles in the saddle, my butt starts feeling the pain.
Comments? Opinions? Anyone?

I'm about to sell mine. I heard from one of you who owns both a CB1100 and a Triumph Tiger 800 and lives in NJ. I have a brand-new oil filter, crush washer, and 4 quarts of Triumph recommended motor oil I'd be happy to give away if someone could put it to good use.
I live in Basking Ridge, NJ.

8000 Mile Valve Adjustment requirement

So my cb1100dx odometer is at 5200. Starting out at about 6000, I was planning on taking a longer trip (3-5k miles). How much past 8000 can I wait to have the required 8000 Mile Valve Adjustment performed? Or, in other words, when is everybody else getting their first 8000 mile maintenance performed? Thanks (ps, this forum is bitchin to you my 60's vernacular).

Has anyone here tried one of these on the CB1100 before? It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time now. I've always felt like the throttle on our bikes takes too much movement. I think reducing that movement would fit my riding style much better.
How hard would something like this be to install? They have a model that fits the CB1100 so I would hope it wouldn't be too difficult but I don't have any experience with taking the throttle grip apart. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

R nineT in brushed aluminum?

To my eye both the R nineT and the Thruxton R succeed in part because they feature lots of nice attention to detail. A guy that lived along the route of my old commute owned an R nineT and sometimes I'd see it parked outside. I found the bike to be more attractive in person than I expected. I didn't know that BMW is now offering it with a brushed aluminum tank. I'm surprised that I like it as much as I do (I've never cared all that much for that sort of thing). For me it just seems to fit nicely with the overall styling of the bike. But man that seat still looks "less than comfortable". If Honda had never released the CB1100, I might find myself tempted by this version of the R nineT (that is if a used one for a decent price existed, lol.)
