Greetings to my fellow CB 1100 owners!
It was love at first sight immediately upon seeing the CB 1100! While I was truly smitten, I tried resisting the attraction for months as I had given up riding years ago for various reasons, and thought those days were forever over.
Needless to say, resistance was futile, lol, as the love and lure was too strong and finally won when “the big day” came yesterday as I took delivery of my new 2014! It’s like Christmas morning waking up today and finally having it in the garage to admire!
I joined the forum months ago and have enjoyed reading your experiences, and welcome the camaraderie of this fine group; many thanks to everyone for your excellent and valuable contributions.
Please allow my first question, concerning the exhaust muffler; while looking at the bracket and/or “hanger” welded to the muffler which attaches it to the foot peg carrier, does the round muffler have a “flat spot” directly in front of the welded bracket?
Best regards, and many thanks to all!

I stupidly put my cheapo cover on before the headers cooled enough. Part of the cover melted onto one of the headers. Does any one have any suggestions as to how I can best remove this from my stainless steel headers???
Thanks.[/size]

I've read the thread on gutting the cat. Just curious about those wh have made this mod, what your general impressions are. My only exhaust mod thus far is cutting the tailpipe flush and drilling two 1.25 holes. Anyone dynoed with this mod? I don't have plans for modding changing the ECU. Sounds as if top end might improve a tad. But seriously I have know idea.

So I have decided I want to buy a CB1100. It will be my only rider. I have found many New 2014 Black bikes for around $7500. I just don't like all the black and the expense to change that is not wise. I found a few 2013 red bikes even one new one. The price range from under $6000 to $7500 for the new one. The Deluxe is what I really want, but they are hard to find and are usually priced over $8500 used.
Besides the obvious differences between 2013 and 2014 (5 speed vs 6, black spokes on 2013, side cover silver vs red, 4 in to 1 vs. 4 in to 2, seats and gauges) what else is there? I heard handle bars are taller on Deluxe? Also a new bike will have a warranty.
Interested in your thoughts. Thanks
