In no particular order my growing list of accessory additions and/or mods to my standard model (all black), 2014 CB1100:

1. Eazy On Black Gaiters
2. Kijima Chrome Grab Bar
3. Puig mini opaque black deflector
4. Shorty black front fender
5. Trail Tech Temp meter (monitors EOC temp)
6. Spal 5.2" pusher fan (attached to front of EOC)
7. On/Off manual fan rocker switch (handlebar mounted)
8. Battery Tender battery charger & hookup wired to bike
9. Emgo reverse megaphone chrome muffler with Delkevic intermediate pipe
A. SW-Motech black power coated crash bars

These all worked out well and didn't cost an arm and a leg. All parts of high quality, tasteful and integrated so as not to radically alter the appearance of the bike or affect the Honda warranty. I tried to keep the all black color scheme (Front) and chrome (rear) as much as possible and believe I have succeeded.

Christmas came early this year for me, but just wanted to share on Thanksgiving Day.

Guys, today I heard from Bokobob, a good friend, that he passed out while riding his Kawa Vulcan recently, breaking a leg and shoulder blade. He wrote me he was starting PT and is in a nursing home. Bob owned a CB1100 until a couple months ago and was a poster on this board. I bought his BMW K75 back in March. which compliments my CB1100, Goldwing and now a BMW R1100RT. I'll never catch up with Bob. He told me he has owned 25 cycles in the past 4-5 years. He likes to ride fast, too.

Bob just turned 80 a month or so ago and was riding about every day. Prayers for his quick recovery I know will be appreciated.

I just wonder why it is that the more exclusive and expensive a motorcycle is, the less reliable it is, with poor handling to boot. Not always, of course, but it does make one wonder.

Put an FZ10 next to this, game over. But the reviewer, MacDonald, did refer to the Monster's "character" at least once.

This piece has all the standard recommendations about protection for one's hearing, but I wonder about the real altruism of the effort; the author recommends an $800 helmet as a solution.

New riders are the ones who need to learn about these things and few of those can even dream of a helmet costing nearly a grand. Just like Norton, borrowing 7.5 million pounds sterling and then developing prestige-oriented bikes for collectors. Nothing for the common man or woman. (And despite being a 1200cc V4, the Kawasaki and BMW superbikes make more power; figure that one out, for $50,000 you'd think a few more horses would be in the stable.)

If this author was really knowledgeable he'd have pointed out that a [url=http://www.nojgear.com/Quiet_Rider_Deluxe_Helmet_Skirt_p/qr03-1.htm]NOJ Quiet Rider can turn any helmet into the quietest helmet available. I use these on several helmets, and not only do they greatly reduced dB levels (along with earplugs, of course), they cut the freezing wind to almost nothing.

And the deluxe version is about $50.

How about providing solutions for people on a budget? There is getting to be too much elitism out there.

Anyone contemplating a ride tomorrow (I am) please remember this is a big travel holiday and there will be extra traffic on the roads, many from out of town and unfamiliar with the area, speed zones, locations of streets, exits on the freeway etc. They may be looking for an address or street and suddenly jam on the brakes to turn. Give anyone that looks confused or has out of state plates or a rental car, a little extra room for safety. In other words y'all be careful out there.

We have a lot to be thankful for and want to keep it that way.
