Hey guys,

I'm coming up on 12k miles on my 14. I've noticed that after a gear change (Particularly the lower gears) there's a little bit of a lag in the power. I'll release the clutch and twist the throttle and the power first lags, then surges. I've checked my chain. What else would you suggests?

Anyone here know/measure the Internal Diameter of a 13/14 front fork? I am thinking about Intiminators. I already know the outside is 41 mm.

Yep. a new, old stock 2014 CB1100 standard. I have a couple of accessories that need to be ordered and installed, so delivery is slated for late next week. Now I have to wait. It will be a tough few days.

I was in a bind. I had three bikes and a sidecar rig, and no more room to park another bike. A few weeks ago I sold my 74 XL350 that I no longer use to navigate the infield of the raceway. I'm too old to be picking up riders when they 'screw the pooch'. Today I delivered my 86 Aspencade with a sidecar to the new owner. It was fun to see the young woman so excited with her new ride.

But not to worry. I have my ST1100 and my 81 CB650 to hold me over until I get the new ride.

My CB1100 EX is a 2017.

I need some help in getting the correct part number for an Engine Guard.

The SW-Motech site did not clearly specify it for my model.

The part # I got is : SBL-01-331-10000-B

Will it fit a 2017 model?

Is there is a huge difference between the different years the CB1100 was produced - in terms of Engine & frame to accept the part # above?

Don't put many miles on the Rune, but there's still some things to keep it up.

Original tires still had tread (6600 miles), but they were 13yrs old.
Not a hard job to pull the wheels, but with parts skyrocketing in price; I took my time.

Replacement cost for the wheels is $2400/rear, $2300/front. Took the wheels to a local shop with a "no touch" changer.

The Rune shares the same engine as the Goldwing, except the Rune has more overlap on the cams, and it has six throttle bodies versus two on the GW's

Oil and filter was changed. Brake & clutch fluid was flushed out also.
These 1832cc engines have certain quirks. For some reason it tends to leak A/F because some clamps loosen over time. There's 19 clamps on the cooling system. Had to remove the radiator enclosure, and even then could only get to 14 of the clamps. I was able to see the other 5, and it appears they aren't leaking.

Another quirk on some of these is the rear brake tends to "acquire" air when it sits for long periods of time. Some go through the very intrigue bleeding process. I hang a weight on the brake pedal for about 24hrs, and it bleeds itself through the compensating port.

Had one of these on an 03 Honda Magna a few years back. Finally back on a bike that could use it again and figured I'd give it a try.

Fitment is ok. I'll have a ride report when I get on the new rubber! I hope this rear 160/60 works out.

Forum member Longranger threw out the offer for members to come see him, stay at his place and ride some of Colorado's spectacular mountain passes. I love mountains. I'M IN Forum member and school teacher who's off for the summer Offroad was up for it too, so we decided to trailer the CB's out and take LongRanger up on his offer. Plans were made, a date was set, and all that was left was for Offroad to get his trailer set up with 2 Condor chocks for the trip. Done.

We decided to get together before the trip and take a little test tow to see how they fit on the trailer and how it towed. So yesterday we decided to meet at the Outlook restaurant on RT 62 in Leavenworth, Indiana. I rode my CB over and Offroad trailered his up. Once at the restaurant, we would have some lunch, then take a ride on Rts 62 and 66 and then come back, load up the bikes and tow them to the other side of Louisville, Kentucky where I would unload and ride home.

After lunch it was time to chase Offroad on Rts 62 and 66 (66 was the better of the two roads)

Once done playing we test fitted the two bikes to the trailer. Fit like a charm and pulled well. Once north of Louisville we stopped at a gas station unloaded my bike and I headed for home. 347 miles round trip!
