Thrilling qualifying sessions today. BeIn Sports covered all 3 classes. A couple of incredibly nasty high sides in Moto2.

Wet conditions saw British riders Redding and Lowes qualify out of Q1. Lowes' Aprilla blew up in Q2. Makes 5 blown engines for that team. Dani couldn't get any rear grip on his Honda and wouldn't have made it out of Q2 today. Zarco pulled a stunner on the final lap to take pole.

Rode my new to me 14 Deluxe about 80 miles today. I absolutely love this bike! (2012 Harley Road King now for sale! ) Is there a low fuel warning light ? How much fuel is in the tank when warning comes on?

So I just changed my oil a few days ago. Go to ride bike today and 5-10 minutes in my oil light starts blinking. I just pulled over and there's oil everywhere? Like out of oil in the tank. Thoughts? I let bike run and checked for leaks when I did the change and there was nothing.

Also would like to add. Oil was basically right at top line. I told my dad that wasn't good and he said it would be ok. I think that's the problem.

Well, I've gotten myself into a bittersweet situation. I imagine that when it comes to selling off motorcycles I would have a hard time finding a more knowledgeable group of people than you guys. So I'm turning to you for advice.

My son just graduated high school and will be heading off to college this coming fall. He is our only child, so my wife and I will joining the ranks of other empty nesters — soon to experience all of the trials and tribulations that this phase of life will be bringing our way. It will be a sizable change for us as we've been a pretty tight knit family. But change, as I like to say, is the only constant in life. So change it is then...

My wife does not really care all that much for motorcycles but she has tolerated, and even encouraged at times, my fascination with them. She knows that a ride is a great way to improve my mood. Still, there is no way she is going to be joining me for a ride (ever). So for quite a while now we've been thinking about a sports car as a fun way to go enjoy the open road together. This week we evolved from the "thinking about it" phase to the "doing it" phase. Which leads to this post.

I've started to rearrange the garage, making way for our newly acquired car. (I'm currently in the middle of a lunch break.) I've been riding far less this past year and now that I've started on the garage it is more than apparent that I'm going to need to sell a bike. It's going pain me to do so, but it looks like the time has come for me to sell my Hawk GT. I've now owned it for a full decade. It was my "dream bike" and the machine responsible for getting me back into motorcycling as an adult. I've gotten a great deal of pleasure out of my ownership experience over the years. But the truth is, I just don't rack up many miles on my bikes. Even when I was riding a majority of the year for my commute to work and back, I still was only racking up a few thousand miles every year. These days the Hawk more or less just sits in the garage looking beautiful. I'd probably hang on to it forever if I had the space, but I don't and it doesn't make sense keep up with insurance on a bike that isn't being used. It's time for someone else to enjoy the bike.

I'm guessing that collectively speaking, more than a few lessons have been learned when it comes to selling bikes amongst this group (heck, probably more than a few lessons amongst just individuals in many cases). So, I'm asking anyone who might care to share their wisdom: what things should I keep in mind when it comes to selling my Hawk? I understand that I'll lose the most money on any aftermarket parts that I leave on the bike. Fortunately for me, my Hawk is pretty much bone stock with the exception of upgraded suspension components, which I'll probably be leaving on the bike since I had to alter the damper rods in the forks to install the gold valve emulators and I can't easily return the forks to stock spec. Other than that, I'm guessing that there are bound to be a few things that I'd overlook. so please share what you know.

For lots of reasons, I’ve not done much riding since the Ride Down Under in March. So I was overdue for a day out. Well overdue.

Queensland, Australia, in the winter is glorious for riding: cool mornings and clear, sunny skies, make way for temperatures in the low to mid 20s (Celsius) during the middle of the day. The lower temperatures reduce the heat haze, so the visibility is good.

I headed south down the motorway—clockwise around the ‘8’.


And came to the Gold Coast-Springbrook Road where, at some point, a sign warned me it was closed ahead.

But, because I wanted to have a look, I kept going until I came to Polly’s Country Kitchen. I was hungry so I stopped for coffee and food. Polly made a passable cappuccino and an excellent plate of eggs and bacon, and I took a photo of the bike.

My timing was impeccable. Three hundred metres or so further-on the road was closed. I retraced my steps a little, rode some pretty roads and came to views of mountains.

By then I was over the border into New South Wales. And I took a new turn to head to Tyalgum. There was a lovely view looking back to a section of the Border Ranges which formed a natural amphitheatre.

I noticed that the black covers on each side of the bike covering where the carbs would be are not fully secured on my bike. I don't think they'll pop off but I'm not happy chancing it. When the tech finished doing the 8000 mile service he didn't full hook them back on. My question is this: Is there enough slack in the hoses and whatnot under the tank to allow it to be raised about 2 inches? I'm guessing that would give me enough room to fully attach the covers and I really don't want to remove the tank. I'm no mechanic. My bike is a 2014 DLX.

I searched through this section and the 'how to' and did not find this exact thing.

I wonder whether some of our Canadian members would humour me and tell me the ninth number of their VIN—that is, JH2SC65* and the year of their bike? I'm interested in how they are different from US VINs and in any difference between 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.

Owning CB 1100 is new to me, but I've been riding for 48 years. Already have a couple other bikes in my garage. Still I'm like a little kid at Christmas ! Does anyone know the number of Deluxes built in 2014?
