Michelin PR3 tires are n/a in USA but are readily in stock at Visor Shop in UK. And they are fresh; dated 2017. Price for a set including shipping $300.
Only issue is you can only use your PayPal balance to cover purchase online, credit card denied due to bank security international protocol. I transferred the funds from my credit card to my PayPal account, but that took a couple of days to clear. Currency exchange fluctuates every day, so pad your PayPal account with an extra $20 extra.
FYI, the last set had 10,000 miles with even wear, minimum cupping, and still had a few more miles in them. GREAT TIRES

Went to a vintage motorcycle rally last Saturday. There were the usual European motorcycles and a few Japanese ones on display. But the one that caught my eye was a Honda GL650 in the parking lot. It looked very much like this one.

Although I had seen the smaller GL500 Silverwings, I had never seen one of these before. It's a 650cc V-twin with shaft drive. No greasy chain to mess with.

Too bad medium sized inexpensive touring bikes are no longer made, except Yamaha's European 700cc Tracer.

I spent last week riding my CB from Phoenix to Emmett, ID where I left the bike in my friend's garage. I'll be returning in my plane this week.

I forgot my lanyard cam (as usual), so I didn't manage to take a whole lot of photos on my phone. This post is basically a test of my new Imgur.com account.

The ride was 1570 miles, with all but about 50 miles of it on back roads. Google says I could have done it in about 950 miles, but what does Google know about riding a CB through the mountains? General route was Phoenix->Page, AZ->Panguitch, UT->Evanston, WY->Sun Valley, ID-> Emmett, ID.

Most pics were taken on a loop from Sun Valley up Idaho 75 to Challis, then back via US 93. I met a tattooed, bearded Harley rider in Sun Valley. After him making fun of my "rice burner" and me making fun of his "paint shaker", we had a beer and decided to ride up to Challis the next day. Although he'd lived in Idaho for years, he's never ridden the Sawtooth Valley on highway 75. It was a great trip, although near the end of the 300 mile day, the Hog had taken its toll on his butt.

On the other side, we see the Sawtooth Valley and the headwaters of the Salmon River. You could literally jump across the Salmon at this point.


This curvy road follows the Salmon all the way to Challis.


Coming back on US 93 the road disappears in a narrow canyon.


At day's end, I rolled into my campsite along the Big Wood River.


That's all I've got for now. I'm heading back up to Idaho tomorrow and I made sure to pack the lanyard cam. After some airplane camping this week, I'll be picking up the bike and heading north to discover some new Idaho backroads next week.

Good golly miss molly what a first day of riding in Colorado. Longranger took us on a great ride today. Rode past entrance to Mt Evans ( highest auto road in U.S. which we will ride up later I'm told) rode Clear Creek Canyon, the Peak to Peak Hwy, ate brunch in Estes Park, went through the Rocky Mt National Park crossing the Continental Divide once, visited Grand Lake, rode home through Bethoud Pass, crossing the Continental Divide a second time. Very warm down low, kinda cool up high. All totaled 253 miles.

Of course I took a ton of pics but can't post em. Maybe Offroad will post a few he took.

Tomorrow I know we are riding up Pike's Peak.

Longranger is the consumate host and tour guide, and the guy can ride like nobody's business. Luckily, keeping him in sight so far lol.

Oh, interestingly we filled up this morning, rode 164 miles and filled up again and I took 2.1 gals for 78 mpg. LR took 2.5 gals 66 mpg and Offroad 2.7 gals. 61 mpg.

I just got back from a 10 day 4,000 mile trip thru Utah and Colorado on Sunday. I was in the Slingshot the wife on her VFR1200. We stopped at the Honda dealer Monday there she was a 13 level 2 candy red Goldwing. My son ( a salesman at the dealer ) said they just got it Saturday and Monday was the first day on the lot. Well I was not looking for a new bike as a matter of fact I told my wife I was real comfortable in the sling and happy to have the CB1100 to ride at home. Bottom line I traded my 13 CB with 2455 miles for a 13 wing with 6000 miles. The deal was just to good to pass up so this is good bye and thank you all. I didn't post much but learned a lot about the CB. I had a wing for 12 years before the CB so I guess once a winger always a winger. I am keeping the Slingshot because its so much fun to hot rod but the wing is a wing and the deal was to good to pass up. Keep the rubber side down my friends and if you see a Goldwing guy wave at a CB it might be me.

I just sold one of my older motorcycles, a 1993 Kawasaki ZX11, to a friend who will appreciate it more than I ever did. It's been in storage just sitting for 14 years, unridden and largely neglected, ashamedly, in a manner not at all consistent with my recommendations whenever I'm asked how to store anything with an internal combustion engine.

Good news, my collection of motorcycles with carburetors is shrinking. That means one less bike on which I will have to spend between 8 to 10 hours cleaning a varnished fuel tank, fuel valve, carburetors, and fuel pump. It is a tedious, time consuming, and unbelievably malodorous task. The most effective cleaner formulated for this will permeate your clothes, your skin, and your very soul while it lingers for a week afterward.

It turns you into an outcast, fully ostracized from any human contact or interaction until it slowly goes away. I swear, you can take 20 showers and it's still there.

Any time I spend performing this noxious task I will never get back and would be far better spent riding instead.

I'm going on a fairly decent ride tomorrow. I'm leading our group. I basically know the route but it would be nice to gps it. My question is..does anyone know of any programs/apps that lets you put a distinct route in?

Just checking on whether any members ever purchased a Kaoko cruise control kit for a 2017 model year.

Any one purchased a Kaoko friction style cruise control?

From twisted throttle site, there are 2 models for CB1100.
I am a bit confused.
For 11-17 MY, the suggested model is KAO-HND-3019 (30mm/19mm).
For 14-15 My, the suggested model is KAO-HND-100C (no dimentions specs).

Personally, I thought ALL CB1100 used the same identical throttle system.

Any other Cruise Control makes that members would recommend?

Any one ever measured the handlebar inner & outer diameter?

Any other comments.
