Anyone have any experience with these on their CB? I use them exclusively on the Bonneville with great results.

  2018 Harley Soft Tails
Posted by: hb9400_imp - 09-15-2017, 03:12 AM - Forum: Other Bikes - Replies (50)

I like to follow new model announcements with all the brands, yes you can get into trouble doing that Smile Reading up on the Harley model shakeup and introduction of the new Soft Tails has been really interesting. Since I've never owned a Harley and therefore don't have the brand loyalty it has been refreshing to see them actually improving their lineup with their new frame, led lighting and a small change but something that I noticed, the kick stand change. I hated Harley kick stands.

Looking at the 8 models introduced at first I gravitated towards the Fat Bob. It has that V Max look but with only a 3.5 gallon tank that would annoy me after awhile, no thanks . I decided that the Fat Boy model worked the best for me. 5 gallon tank and the brushed chrome look works well. The soft tail look makes the back end look clean and the floor boards feel about right. Sadly with price tag of $20k for the 107 and $22k for the 114 I just can't see pulling the trigger.

Nice job Harley, you got me into a dealership to gaze but just too steep for me.

I've read some thought gems in this forum. Actually have one in my signature. Browsing an old thread today found another one:

"She is a siren whose song will draw you in only to smash you against the rocky reef exposed by an unforgiving low tide."
~ Metallyguitarded about the VFR800.

Feel free to share yours or ones you find.

  Stalled
Posted by: Nemo_imp - 09-14-2017, 03:41 AM - Forum: Mechanical & Technical - Replies (17)

Hey guys,

I'm still around, still loving my CB, not as much time as I'd like to ride it.

The other day I rode to the office and got caught on a traffic jam. The CB started "having issues" at low RPM and just when I drove into the parking garage it stalled and it wouldn't start. I would press the starter button and nothing, the hands on the instruments would go to zero and that was it. I want to think it was electrons related because the clock got cleared. Anywho... I pushed started it, rode to my parking spot and went to work. Later that day, time to go home, got on it, started like a champ and took me home without a problem.

What could've caused this condition? Would the battery get drained just for sitting in traffic? If it was battery, how come it started just fine 8 hours later? I'm perplexed by this.

Hope everybody's doing well!

my DLX thinks its a STD
Posted by: DJS_imp - 09-14-2017, 12:51 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (16)

my deluxe is getting low on gas.
it flashes and says the amount of miles and gas left until empty.
it says i have .9 gallons left.
from last fill up my trip meter indicates i used 3 gallons.
that would be 3.9 gallons of gas in a tank. that is the capacity of the standard not the deluxe.

it did this on my last tank as well.
once i got passed the 3.9 it thought i had the miles and gallons left were indicated as a blank "-" on the instrument panel.

anyone else have this issue?
any way to reset this?

  Wheel exchange
Posted by: Gravity Storm_imp - 09-13-2017, 08:28 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (20)

New to the site, so I am not going to ask an oil question. I have just purchased a 2017 and I am not a fan of spoked wheels/tube type tires.
Does anyone know if the cast wheels of previous years can be fitted with out much trouble?

Thanks for any help.

  Side plate bolt

Hello,
I just had a side plate cover bolt fall out. Can anyone suggest the best place to order a replacement? Both places I checked out had $10 shipping for a $3 bolt.
Thanks!

The recent [url=http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a12213518/ten-thousand-miles-on-the-final-aircooled-honda/]CB1100 article appearing on Road & Track's website got me to thinking about this.
