So what did you have and why did you get rid of your Sport Bikes?
for me it was i did not have enough self control to not do stupid things plus new Michelin pilots every 3K miles so they had to go or i would have killed myself.
had a Passport Radar Detector with Screamer unit and did stupid things that i do not do on my CB's

I was cleaning my tail light today and noticed that the large chrome housing is loose. One can see the fasteners move on their mounting bracket. Before I get out my tools and break stuff, can anyone verify if their 2017 chrome tail light housing moves aroumd on its mount? Thanks!

Had a small crash on Friday. I've been testing the lean angles lately trying to get a feel for how far over I can lean this thing and expected the peg feelers to give me enough warning to pull out of it, well apparently the crash bars are right there and when the peg feeler started rubbing it was a split second to when the crash bar hit and bam slide.
Vid: https://youtu.be/msiEw638lvY
Bike is fine and I'm fine. The crash bars took all of the slide essentially.

I know how far I can lean now lol. Seriously though... Good crash bars for crashing.

For the CB1100 owners out there who have owned or currently own a Ducati...
Can I get a straight answer with respect to maintenance and reliability first hand? While I could go poke around on Duc forums (already have), I hold the folks here in very high regard and would be willing to assign far more weight to those who are willing to share here (away from the Kool-Aid bowl).
I'm in love with the sport classic series of Ducati bikes in particular and just wanted to gather some general intel among this population to supplement what I've already read and heard in order to get a different perspective.
Thanks in advance.

Who had the 2017 with the strange gold ring around the left side horn? I can't find the thread.

Just reported Valentino Rossi broke the tibia and fibula of his right leg .. Displaced fractures. Has to have surgery. Same fracture he had several years ago. Probably out for the year.

I've really wanted a CB1100 for awhile, and it's been very difficult to watch them drop from $11k to $6k without getting one into my garage. However, I won't ride a bike without ABS after my CTX700 saved my tush from a definite high side, and my wife won't let me get one without ABS either (she knows what a tone wheel looks like!).
Are there ANY good deals on ABS-laden, new, leftover CB1100s out there? There are reams of $6-7k standards out there, but I need something that won't buck me over the bars if I lock up the front.

I know this isn't exactly news to any of you, but i had a few moments during a five day, 2,000 mi road trip through the Pacific NW where I really appreciated how purposely built the CB is to manage real road challenges gracefully.
Whether open road cruising, passing long lines of cars or keeping up with a quick Ducati on highway 20's many curves, I was never disappointed with how well the bike responded to inputs. True, it's not a track bike, but a beautiful machine that can be pushed quite aggressively on good rubber. I can't speak highly enough of my CB, especially after comparing to my buddy's FI Bonneville, which was fun, but felt kinda loose.

I was not content with the light output of the stock H4 headlight on the CB1100 and have seen great reviews on the JW Speaker Evo 2 headlight. I realize that this light isn't super popular with the retro-look diehards but for me headlight output is a form-follows-function item.
The light is currently $265 on Amazon:
https://amazon.com/gp/product/B00GMRM3KA
Installation was not possible using the stock bucket without fabrication or modification of the stock parts which I didn't want to do as I wanted the option to go back to stock. I ordered the following bucket:
The bucket is currently $55 on Amazon:
https://amazon.com/gp/product/B01FKKCMLE
Installation was very easy. The hardest part was fitting the stock wiring in the aftermarket bucket as it's slightly smaller than stock. I've seen another post on here where the person used a much more expensive Triumph bucket and that would work well also.
Stock light and trim ring won't work with the JW Speaker light:
JW Speaker light in the aftermarket trim ring
Installed. (The Road Comet fairing studs thread right into the Bucket):
Completed:
I'm still waiting for nightfall to complete alignment and get an idea of the difference.
There are tons of comparison threads online of these lights versus an H4 but honestly digital photographs of light output comparisons are pointless because digital cameras automatically adjust for available light, so I don't trust them as a final judgement.
