Hello everybody my first post, have been lurking for some time now and hope to make a purchase soon.

One thing I have noticed, looking at your pictures of bikes in the USA, I notice the engine side covers on Honda's UK web site states and shows the covers are polished aluminium and how nice that all looks.

On visiting my local dealer the UK bikes are not polished metal but a horrible spray painted silver and believe me in the flesh that looks so plain and absolutely disappointed me.

It would not be a deal changer, just means the bike will be that more expensive to correct. Are there any other changes to UK spec to USA?

Whenever my bike has been sitting around with fuel stabiliser in the tank while I've been away, it always burns through that tankful when I get back on it. I don't run the bike any differently.

An example: my average MPG in US gallons is 44.11. When I ran the bike with stabiliser in the tank after it had sat for 5 weeks, I got 28.48.

Any ideas? Or is this normal?

ThiS past summer I was in Maine for a funeral (wife's grandmother, she was 97 and had a good run) and I stayed at my MiL's

My MiL's ex left his 86 gold wing behind.. hasn't run in 2 years (had a heart attack). He (ex stepfather in law) used it to commute about 10 miles to work daily for years, and maintained it (oil changes, carb cleaned yearly, but didn't really maintain the body work, but it's all there). It sits outside in the summer but during the nasty winters it's stored in a heated shed.. its complete, a little sun faded, and has a bit of a patina, with maybe 40k miles.. It was offered to me a good price then, now before the Maine winter comes, i could pick it up for a few hundred.

My townhouse garage is near capacity with the cb11, hd dyna, ktm 620adv. I've never ridden one, let alone worked on one.. I'm quasi tempted, I'd probably pull the trigger if I didn't have to go to maine with my trailer (it's 8ish hours one way) and clean my garage. I just don't know anything about em, and with the family stuff going on I don't have that much time to spend looking into it. So since everyone here has a variety of stuff, figured I'd ask if folks thought it was work the risk.

I love this bike, but finding a replacement for the factory seat is priority #1.

Riding solo, I am constantly sliding forward into the tank. 2-up is even worse. For the sake of the family jewels I am looking for something more contoured and some extra support for the passenger, like a back rest or grab bar.

So far it's the Corbin Gunfighter & Lady that is grabbing my attention. It seems like many people here have great things to say about this seat. My only concern is the removable backrest being a single post mount, does it wiggle or flex during mount/dismount? If so, does it lead to any wear on the mount?

It looks like the most recent one up for sale in the classifieds has been scooped up. If anyone else is looking to sell, I'm interested.

Anyone know of another option for comfortable 2-up riding?

On very hot days or long trips I used to put a wooden bead cover on my ( Corbin ) seat too prevent "monkey " butt.
A few weeks ago I bought 3 of the ceramic bead covers from Beadrider.
They are really good looking covers and very comfortable plus they give and extra 1/2 inch seat height.
I will probably even leave them on in the winter and just put a sheep skin pad over them as in the colder weather they could be too cold.
All my seats are vinyl and can be sticky in hot weather , the bead cover allows you to move a little.

I want to replace an E-cushion seat for my 2017RS, as seat info as on Samurider says it fits only for model 2010 - 1016. Wonder if it fits for my 2017RS model. Anyone has modified seat for 2017 version please share your experience. Thanks.

Cleaning my bike today and noticed a healthy chip in the lower front of the right side cover. I assume a stone was blame. Lots on the bottom of the engine too.



With the blacked out cover it feels like it could keep flaking or spreading. What's the best treatment? Matching touch up paint? Storing my baby in the living room?

Great-looking CB and an excellent cause too.

I picked up a used Corbin seat from forum member Rdtwohig it is quite comfortable to sit on (although to be honest I prefer the looks of the stock seat) but unfortunately my back completely gave up about a month ago and I haven't been able to ride since. I am scheduled for major back surgery in Nov. That means I will miss snowmobile season too but hopefully ready to go for next spring.

My wife may actually go for ride now that the CB has a back rest - she won't get on a bike without one.

In the mean time keep those riding pictures coming so that I may live vicariously through you all.
