I'm making a list of items I "need" for the 2017 EX I'm thinking of buying, and one really essential one (after a tankbag) is a set of soft saddlebags. Were this my only motorcycle, I'd investigate hard bags, but since it's not, I prefer the look of a naked bike most of the time.

I did a couple of searches and see positive opinions on the Tourmaster Select (these seem small) and the Cortech Super 2.0 (larger); both of these apparently fit without turn signal relocation (I'm not going to do that for appearance reasons).

Has anyone fitted the Dryspec D20 bags from Twisted Throttle (they show these as applicable to the CB1100)? I like the waterproofness and the appearance (for my purposes).

Lose weight and ride more in 2018, probably something most of us want to do.
Exercising and pushing back from table wasn’t to bad today, but the 27 degree temperature was tough. With a 45 mile per hour wind chill factor that equated to 10 below zero. If I had those numbers before I started resolution 2 would have been broken!
The leather gloves, chaps, heavy Triumph jacket with throat insulator helped, but I only lasted for 25 minutes. Unseasonably cold this week, should be back in the 50,s by middle of next week .
Vacation time already granted for Berea trip, looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone then.

This is a scam running on Craigslist and other vehicle for sale sites. What I do when I get an email like the ones described, is to tell them if they want a vehicle history report, I will give them the VIN and they can pull the report. If they decide to purchase the vehicle, I will deduct the cost of the report from the price. I have yet to get a email back asking for the VIN.

Anyone that's been hanging around here for a while knows that I have a preference for the 2013 model CB1100. The bike does everything I need it to do and I prefer the looks of this bike over all subsequent years. I've come to refer to these bikes as the "original" CB1100. Well this year I'm planning on taking things a step further...

It might be hard to believe, but I've never ordered anything from Mr. T (of Samurider fame) before. Well, I've got my first ever package from him headed my way as I type this note. It contains the Honda CB1100 Factory Seat (Japan model). The original CB1100 seat if you will (or simply the seat that appeals to a rather short guy with short legs like me, lol). I'll be curious to see how different the seat feels comfort-wise as I have absolutely no issues with the seat that originally came with the bike — hopefully I don't notice too much difference. But I'm sure that the shorter height will be appreciated when I'm trying to move the bike around while seated when parking for example, etc..

After exchanging a few notes with Mr. T, I will also soon be ordering the CB1100 Type II low handlebar to go with the seat. So look for a thread over in the Accessories/Modifications section in the not too distant future with some before/after photos. I guess it's been quite a while since I've had something to post in that section.

'twas about 10am on the last day of the year with perfect weather (25C) I decided to head out into the nearby hills for a motorcycling 'fix'. Almost 300km through God's own country which included some ideal twisties such as:
- The Saint Andrews Kinglake Road,
- Chum Creek Road from Toolangi to Healesville,
- The Black Spur (Maroondah Hwy north of Healesville) with a quick stop to look at the Maroondah Reservoir,
- Lake Mountain Road with a pit sop and photo at the top,
- Marysville Woods Point Road,
- Buxton Marysville Road also known as the Reefton Spur,
- Warburton Hwy with a refreshment stop at the Reefton Hotel then to Healesville via Don Road, and
- returning home via Chum Creek Road & the St Andrews Kinglake Road.

Mrs. Flyer has already reminded me on a couple of occasions that it was a 7.5 hour outing undertaken whilst she was managing home duties. My advice for her to buy a motorcycle and join me was not taken in the spirit in which it was intended ... will I ever learn to just shut up!

Right before the old year ends I bought a single cylinder Royal Enfield Classic Chrom Maroon.

A long kept wish to complete the W800 and CB1100.
1 - 2 and 4 cylinders all standing upright, aircooled and a joy to look at and ride with them.

The Bullet is still in its running in period and one of the last Euro 3 models. Not cheap but I from now on take a risk in the way Indians build motorcycles. A diverse and much dicussed topic.
