Factory Honda accessories don’t come with installation instructions, but you can download PDFs for installing the following CB1100 accessories:

Front Fork Bolt, Headlight Case, Heated Grip Attachment, Meter Cover, Meter Panel, Rear Carrier, Rear Trunk Attachment, and Side Panels.

The site has installation instructions for other Honda models too.

Hey all, wanted to ask the forum about a sound I hear.

In 1st gear and only first gear, I hear a mechanical sound when I'm coasting in 1st with the clutch pulled in. It sounds like a bad bearing, or some other rotating metal on metal friction.

Anyone else have this, know what it is, is it normal, and should I take it to dealer?

I love this little rear - 4 LED safety light as an extra visual key for those in cars and trucks who don't like us much and tend to scare the livin' daylights out of us with their antics.

I keep it in flash mode and the result at all times - night and day is noteworthy.

Did the Corbin( or other after market) seat owners ever report back and say how much more comfortable their seats are than stock? I may have missed that....
I'm thinking it may be the relaxed riding position that puts all the weight on your butt. In my case after about an hour, my tail bone area gets sore and numb...does the Corbin help this?
I could ride most of the day on my 86 900 Ninja.....I'm thinking leaning over and forward puts pressure on a different part of your butt and shares some of the weight with your arms....
Just like on a bicycle, if you're going to ride all day, you want proper position, leaning over with bars even or slightly below seat height, not sitting up like on a beach cruiser. .....I wonder if this is the real problem with the sore CB1100 seat or is it really the seat design and material?

I don't find the weight in the specs. Anyone have it?

All I need some feedback. After viewing post on this site about the Corbin seat, I'm curious to gather input about leather seats vs vinyl. I have never had a leather seat.

If you want the U lock that can be stored under the seat as mentioned in your owner's manual, you might have to order it from Japan. My dealer said alot of the accessories are not yet available to the USA.
Anyway, that's what I did. I ordered what I thought was a complete lock from japan.webbike.net only to find out later that you also have to order the lock cylinder and tumblers separately (it was in the fine print).
It turned out to be worth it since you key it yourself to match your ignition key so you don't have to carry another key around.
Fortunately, one of my co-workers spoke Japanese and was able to translate the directions for me.

I've been a voyeur on this forum for the past month or two as I've been researching the CB1100. I'm SO close to pulling the trigger! I've decided I want to get something to replace my 2001 Triumph Bonneville. I want something that will give me the classic standard riding feel I get from the Bonnie, but with more power and better brakes and handling. It's come down to the ZRX1200 vs. CB1100.

I really love everything about the CB1100. The sole reason for my hesitation is the lack of power on the CB1100. The 88HP scares me a bit. I'm worried that I'll be wishing for more. I certainly do with the Bonnie. If the CB1100 had 100+ HP, it would already be in my garage!

I really like the look and performance of the Kawasaki ZRX1200, however, I'm worried it will be too much like my 02 Yamaha FZ-1. I think it may be a totally different animal than the Bonnie. There do not seem to be a whole lot of choices for what I'm looking for. The Moto Guzzi Griso interests me; however, I'm not crazy about wide position of the legs. I had a 09 VMAX for a while and that was something I didn't like about it (that and not being able to ride it without risking life and license).

So it looks highly likely that I'll end up with a CB1100. The bike really speaks to me! So ... the big question I have is:

Should I get the bike with or without ABS. My local dealer has one in stock without ABS (still in crate). He can certainly locate an ABS model for me, but would clearly prefer to sell the one he has in stock. He's telling me that ABS is not an important option on this bike. I would like opinions on ABS vs. Non ABS. It seems to me that it would be an excellent option.

Also, there are 97! Honda CB1100's listed on Cycle Trader within 400 miles of me. Given that it is this late in the season and there are so many available, what kind of price do you think I should be able to negotiate? Should I wait until after the season to get a better deal?
