2014 cb1100 Torque specs for two specific locations
#1
Hello!

I am installing frame sliders and crank case covers to my 2014 CB1100. I am looking for the torque spec. Values for the following bolts:

The three bolts on the down tube and engine, indicated here with arrows.

The left and right crank case bolts, as indicated here with red circles.

The exhaust bolt, as indicated with a white circle.

Welcome Dd!

All the muffler bolt is shown in the service manual as 15 ft lbs.

The engine mounting bolts on the downtube are 36 ft lbs. and the one on the engine is 44 ft lbs. The OEM bolts are pretty hefty.

The right cover does not have a torque spec. Manual says to apply sealant where shown and tighten securely.
The left cover also uses a sealant and has no torque spec. Says to tighten in a criss-cross pattern.

When no torque is spec’d, you can either wing it, or use the Standard Torque Values chart in the book. If you want it, PM me your email address and I’ll take a quick pic and send it to you.

So, Dd808, how about popping over to the New Members section and introducing yourself? Or just join in the fun.

Sorry I wasn’t clear Dd. No thread locker is called for on the covers bolts. The sealant I mentioned was for the cover mating surfaces as they have no gasket.

The engine mounting bolts also do not specify a locker.
