They phoned me last Saturday to tell me the bike would shipped on Monday. Well, it's not here yet (Thursday evening) and after two visits to the shop all they can tell me is that it's shipped, but they don't know where it is. Needless to say, this answer is not sitting well with me and I am becoming impatient. On another note, they sold one standard 2014 CB1100 already, and they have a nearly-new 2013 CB1100 on the floor that somebody just traded in this week (did this belong to anybody from this forum?). It has a fairing, luggage rack, and an electronic tire pressure sensor on it. I asked the salesman what the previous owner traded it in on and he couldn't tell me.
I too am having frustrations with the process of getting my hands on a 2014. For starters, I put a deposit down on a DLX on Jan 22nd, the morning after Honda US officially announced it. Shouldn't I now be among the buyers who have already taken delivery and are enjoying their new ride? Alas, no... this is not the case. Initially my dealer said it was scheduled to ship from the warehouse on 4/8 and then it got pushed back to 4/21 which is where it sits now. I asked why that would be when other people, who placed their orders weeks or even months after I did, have already gotten their bikes. The dealer had no answer for me beyond "They show up when they show up." Awesome, thanks pal!
Can anyone here provide insight into why Honda is torturing me?

Barkingshins: I agree with you! You should already have your bike. If your dealer ordered it in jan yes you should be riding honda does sell to the powerhouse dealers first which is not fair. I put no money down will have my bike today its Friday here now I'm still awake! It's been about one week wait for me. They got my bike from another warehouse shipped it alone & I guess honda paid the shipping cost I got the bike at what I was quoted if my dealer orderd it from honda which would of had to of been built then shipped to warehouse that services our part of the southern states. My bike came from up north warehouse. If your dealer is small maybe he getting bumped down I don't know. But fair is fair you should have a vin # below 20 just how I see it. I would ask your dealer if he can find a dealer trade. Yes I'm excited, but I do know how you feel

When the CB1100 came to Europe last year I was already hooked and calculated how much it would cost to replace the wheels by spoked wheels--an additional EUR 2000, way too steep. After reading rumors in various places in the fall of 2013 about a new 2014 model I decided to wait. Also because I yet had to sell my Guzzi Breva to soften the damage...
How pleased was I when the rumors about the spokes turned into certainty.
After test riding a black 2013 model two weeks ago to see if I fit on my first "big" bike (CB250, Zephyr 550, Zephyr 750, Breva 750 so far) I was more than convinced. I ordered the 2014 EX in red with chrome meter cover and chrome front light, regular ABS.
It's probably on a container ship to Rotterdam right now. ETA end of April/first week of May. If only time wouldn't pass so slowly. I'm like a child waiting for Christmas.

Sure, glad to help. On the invoice it says "08F72-MGC-D30 KIT,METER COVER", "08F71-MGC-D30 KIT,HEAD LIGHT CA".
These are the same numbers as in the official extras catalogue, http://www.honda.de/globalimages/pdf/de/...r_2013.pdf
(see page 3, in German though...)

I'm with ya, mate. 20 days to go. It's a lesson in modesty and patience. If all our wishes were immediately fulfilled, we wouldn't appreciate the reward when we finally hold her in our hands (or rub our butts on her, ahem).

I was at the Honda dealer today and they had a 2013 red CB1100 and a black 2014 "regular" model sitting side by side. The black 2014 has blacked out engine cases and a lot of the aluminum pieces that are bright metal on the 2013 are now black also, including the edges of the wheel rims. That is fine for those fans of the Dark Side, but I prefer the shiny metal bits on the left-over 2013. I am still waiting to see the 2014 Deluxe model.
